Great experience and great food,

This was our first time here. After reading the reviews of others, I wasn't sure if I wanted to try it out, but I know some people just like to complain about every little thing, so I went ahead and made a reservation. First was parking, downtown Raleigh can be a pain when it comes to parking, but we got there a 5 and found a spot right out front YES!!!!! We went in side and were seated immediately. The place is listed as an Italian restaurant but has a sports bar vibe to it. Lot's of photos of Jimmy V around. Once seated, our waiter was quick with our water and took our drink order. This gave us time to look over the menu, its small, only 1 page, but has a variety of options with salads, sandwiches, pizzas, steak, chicken and pasta. We shared a Caesar salad, then my wife had the shrimp scampi and I had the chicken marsala. My wife said the shrimp scampi didn't have a lot of flavor, but was ok. The chicken marsala on the other hand and a ton of flavor. The garlic mashed potato's were very creamy. The marsala sauce was a little thin, more like a soup, but it still tasted good. And like normal, we were too full to have any dessert. If you looking for a casual place to eat, with good service, give Jimmy V's Osteria bar a try .

Love that they donate to Jimmy V Foundation! Food was just okay but service was great and it’s convenient if you’re downtown.

Went here for dinner, good atmosphere and good service. The food is 3-4 star quality though. The shrimp scampi is fresh and has a peppery after taste. Friend got the spaghetti and meatballIs and said he’s had better. If you get chicken with a salad just expect it to be shredded (basically canned) chicken instead of fresh grilled like everywhere else. The calamari is good but got a small portion compared to previous photos shown in previous reviews. Manager was generous and gave us some more.Price is way too high for what I got.

Ordered crab dip and 2 drinks, 30 min later he came out and said Sadi you want to order something different crap dip is delayed another 30 min. Strange, we sat and waited, first time there only 4 people there at lunch, don’t understand what the wait was for 1 thing

We decided to stop here for an early dinner because we saw the menu outside with a gluten free pizza option that looked delicious. We sat out on the patio with our dog and each had a beer. The patio is completely covered and had a nice breeze coming from inside the restaurant, which helped on this really hot day.I ordered an Omission beer, which is gluten reduced. I was happy to see that they had a few gluten free/gluten reduced options for me to choose from. The pizza we so fell in love with and wanted to try (Funky Pizza) was apparently not available for another 30 minutes until their dinner hour started. So instead we ordered the Three Cheese White pizza and added mushrooms. However, when it came out the crust looked much too fluffy to be gluten free (the first pizza picture). The server had disappeared, so I had to go back in to find her. When I asked her if the pizza was actually gluten free, even though it was labeled as "V" & "GF" she told me it wasn't unless I specifically asked. She was quick to get another pizza ordered for us that was actually gluten free (the second pizza pictured). But as someone who's been in the service industry for over 20 years, if I see someone order a drink that's specifically gluten free, I always inquire as to whether their meal needs to be as well. Apparently, that's not common practice here and you have to be extra clear and specify everything. A little disappointing for 2 people who've been in the industry for so long because it should just be common sense.Either way, the pizza itself was really good and the atmosphere was nice. We'll probably go back again in the future. But now we know that we have to clarify everything before ordering with them.

We had some business at the Wake County Courthouse, which is a block down on Fayetteville Street, so we stopped in for a quick lunch at this restaurant within the Sheraton Hotel. That immediate part of Fayetteville Street is not the best part of town, but the surroundings inside the restaurant, namely the decor, are excellent. It has high ceilings. On one wall is a chalkboard on which people have scribbled pithy sayings about life. In addition, there is a beautiful outdoor seating area that looks out over a slightly nicer part of the street. We shared a Margherita pizza and some (non-alcoholic) drinks. The food was good. The service could have been better. Our waitress was not the most attentive. Prices are moderate. Overall, particularly if you sit outside, which we did, this is a nice place to stop in when you are in downtown Raleigh.

nothing impressive here ... lunch of Caesar salad and Margherita Pizza was uninspired and even bland ... service was disinterested and made several delivery mistakes to me and around me at other tables ... environment felt like all low end hotel restaurants

Good service, good food and generous serving sizes. Not as quiet as we had hoped. But still doable.

Service was horrible-
