Update so 2nd visit definitely warrants 5 stars. I am becoming addicted to the croissant. Sandwich has lots of meat. Everything nice and fresh. Owner reached out to make 1st visit right wins my business.Overall it wasn't bad. The best part was the croissant. Nice and flaky and not saturated in butter. 1st time in Jason's deli. I've had it before but because my job ordered us lunch. Not a big sub eater. As you can see from picture a few crumbles of bacon and onion just on one portion of the sandwich, the other half was the same. I like my sandwiches to to have the same ingredients on the entire thing.?Maybe thats just me. Bananas peppers were really dry and hard so pulled them off as you can see. I hate when restaurants don't seem ventilated enough so you come out with smelling like you were next to a grill. Cashier friendly as I figured out what to get.
Foodwise - I didn't dislike it and I didn't hate it. Customer service, though, was Clutch McGillicuddy!!!! Top-notch. Didn't get his name but he was the make or break for my first time experience!
I have gotten muffaleta from Jason's before. Then they used the Original olive salad you would get from Central Market or Boscolli or others in the grocery stores in New Orleans..And they were using those as well as the original muffaleta bread from New Orleans. Using those two items and the right meats & cheese will get you a relatively representative muffaleta. I'll have to admit I have not been to Jason's in a while. So I don't know when they changed. Today, I picked up a muffaleta. I would be ashamed to call that even a good imitation of a muffaleta. The olive salad consisted of mostly black olives and a little green olives with little olive oil (very little). The bread was thinner than the original, an had a harder crust, and again not representative of that from New Orleans. When did Jason stop using the original olive salad & bread from New Orleans? New Orleans olive salad is a mixture of pickled vegetables, onions, capers, oregano, garlic, etc. in a heavy olive oil bath. If you should get a muffelata from Jason's please do not blame the sandwich as this one doesn't even come close to what a muffelatta should be. If you are ever in New Orleans, pick up one at Central Grocery or DiMartino's and see what a muffelata should be and enjoy it.
So glad this place is back open! One of the very few salad bars left in the Triangle. Everything was still fresh and just as good as I remembered it. The turkey muffaletta is my favorite. Great place for a healthy lunch!
I have been a regular here since I started working down the street. You will literally see me eating lunch here at least twice per week. The service and quality of food are consistently above average in every category. From the smiling welcome from the person taking my order, to the friendly manager always peaking out to say a welcomed hello, and even the girls cleaning up the tables…everyone here goes above and beyond in every way possible! For the food…I usually stick to my deli club sandwich…piled high with a side of chips! Today I went with the salad bar…always crisp and fresh. And you can’t forget about the free ice cream!!! Jasons Deli is my go to spot!!!
I have been here about three times in the past month. I have enjoyed it because this restaurant has been one of my favorites for years. However I come in today and I wait in line while one person is on the phone taking orders and the other is right behind him cutting up strawberries. He didn’t even acknowledge my presence. No one even greeting or anything. Then I asked for utensils and one of the line cooks look at me as if I was asking something wrong. I said thank you and he kept walking the other way. I don’t feel comfortable while coming to the restaurant!
This was my first time visiting this location but not my first experience with Jason's Deli. I was disappointed in the way my favorite sandwich The New York Yankee was prepared here. It was very sloppy and the whole plate was just poorly prepared as if the chef was in a hurry or just didn't care. I know how good this restaurant can be and I must have visited here on a off night?
Referring to this place as Jason’s Butcher with how badly they butchered my food ?I don’t know what’s so hard to understand with the word “plain.” Literally just wanted the bread, cheese, and meat because of all my allergies. Instead they stack it with a few things I’m allergic to, so I had to throw it away! I’m just glad it was a meal provided to employees and that I didn’t have to pay—still doesn’t change the fact I had to go hungry the rest of the day though since I didn’t have time to order anything else during my meal break.
I can't say enough good things about using the locations' catering options. Octavia Covington is our contact and she is ALWAYS "spot on". She is professional, friendly, thoughtful and helpful. We always have our catering orders delivered BEFORE the allotted time. Octavia always communicates with us and if there ever was a problem , she would call me to let me know ...with the solution. This is one of the best Jason Deli locations to work with...and Cross Assembly appreciates ALL OF YOU!
I've visited this location many times great quality food love the customer service always clean.. looking forward to having another rueben this week
