I've been frequenting Golden Krust for many years. I loved going to the ones in New Jersey and I was happy that restaurants are here in NC as well. Staff here are courteous, nice portions, and always have food available. I love the one here on Fayetteville Road. I went to the other location in Raleigh and it didn't have few items available. I would have to wait 20 minutes. When I asked if there would be a discount for waiting. I was told no. Vegetable patties and collard greens were not available.
Its ok if you like RICE as your main dish. I ordered the oxtail dinner which was $20+ the take out container has 3 compartments 1 large [intended for the main course] & 2 small. The large is filled, I mean filled with rice. The small has your vegetable (cabbage) and the other small is for the oxtails.. The Mac and Cheese, it is a square (small ) block for $5.00. I won't be going back due to the portions and the price you pay for the small portions. In addition I went at 12noon, they do not offer ANY type of lunch specials.
I really enjoy the chicken roti from here. I’ve come several times and today I came in and the young waitress was so rude. I was met with an attitude as if I was bothering her. And my order was not complete! I had to ask for three items missing from my order. To top it off, the dining area was not clean. The owner did come out to make sure I had everything and double check. She was professional and courteous. This experience makes me question if I should come back here! And on Juneteenth and Father’s Day to boot!
I bought 3 spicy beef patties the KRUST is golden — not flaky as beef patties are supposed to be . I was so disappointed because I went to pick up cocktail patties for a party and thought I would get regular patties oh my word I had to squeeze out the meat out of the patties and eat that. The inside meat was delicious. However patties are not patties without a good crust. There is no way you could eat this with a coco bread it would be dough upon dough. Come on people you are not representing what a real Jamaican patty should be. This review is for the Golden KRUST in Raleigh only the patties not bold enough to try the other food.
My parents for told me about this Caribbean spot so I decided to try it. I went in the establishment and it was very neat and clean, the service was good as well. When I left and finally got to try the ox tails I ordered along with the red bean rice and cabbage I was really shocked on how good the food actually was. Every bite was very flavorful and portions were on the bigger side as well and price wasn’t too bad. Golden Krust has a forever customer.
My, My, My, this place is Phenomenal in my own personal opinion and experience. Today on Mother’s Day after church hubby said anything I wanted and it was oxtails which by the way he can do without? however, they are my favorite and my palate wanted them so I obliged. First time there, love the atmosphere, the staff busy but attentive and very professional and cleanliness was a 5 star upon opening the door cause I do food and cleaning……. I usually frequent another spot but this is my place for Caribbean now. I like, I like, I love. Thank you all who worked on Mother’s Day in this establishment because you and the food made My Day❤️!HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I got lost and accidentally found this GEM while traveling in Raleigh a month ago. I ordered the ox tails and couldn't wait to come back to the area to try other menu items. Today, I ordered brown stew snapper and it did NOT disappoint! ! The flavors are amazing, and the fish is so flaky and tender. I'll be back the next time I'm in town for sure!
I was on a food road trip (2hrs from home) to crab du jour when I saw people coming out of this establishment. I've never had Jamaican food or been around Jamaicans to know what was good so I looked over the menu on my phone. The beef patties were cheap so I decided to go with them plus if I didn't like them I didn't really lose any money. When I walked in it was very colorful. The guy behind the counter I had a hard time understanding and unfortunately had to keep asking him to repeat himself. I felt bad for it and out of place but I wanted to show support during covid. The spicy beef patties just had a lot of spice seasoning but it was not hot. I got 4 since they were out of the cheese beef patties. The meat texture was soft like a paste and the dough was flaky around the edges. I don't know if that's how they are supposed to taste but it wasn't for me. If I'm going to be in the neighborhood I will better prepare myself and research the food on the menu. Most of the reviews mention the oxtails so maybe that will be on the list the next time I'm in Raleigh.
Good day. I must categorically state that today I have one of the best cook and marinated oxtail meal in a long time since my mother and grandmother prepared one. The chefs at this golden krust restaurant and it's staff are truly professional and it's evident in their well cook and delicious meals. I am prepare to return this weekend with families and a few friends to dine in with some good cook, watery and tasty food.
GREAT customer service, very fast and friendly! Food fresh and hot! Nice portions. Food bomb as h*ll ✅ I had to walk a long way to my vehicle and dropped my food but I tried to make it look as nice as they did ? They have plenty of options for vegetarians as well!! I’ll be back. Thank youuu
