As relocated Michigander, I can vouch for Cloos. It's actually one of the best tasting Coney islands I've ever been to. It's amazing to get to eat such good Coney's here in NC. If you are craving an amazing, classic dog, go here. And their fries are perfect too!
In town from Wilmington for a hurricanes game, and stopped on a whim here on our way back home. So glad we checked it out! One of us has two dogs which had that good ole “snap” to the dog when biting into it. Delicious. And I had the Philly cheesesteak…Best one I have had since moving down south 6 years ago. Bread was light and soft, filling was hot and delicious-never had spicy brown mustard on one, but it was absolutely delicious. Staff was polite and friendly as they got busier. It did take a little longer than I expected to get food, but we weren’t it a rush, and it was SO worth the wait. We will make sure to make this a spot to go every time we are in the Raleigh area from now on. Thanks Cloos’ Coney Island for this gem!
One of my favorite hot dog spots. I am a hot dog officianato. I am from Brooklyn. Went to Coney Island every month. I know about the SNAP. I know about Nathans and Gray Papaya!!! Great sliders also!!!
You could smell the food on the outside YUM! 4 for lunch. All had fries. 1 Chicago dog loved it. 2 Cony dogs, good and 1 slider excellent! 1Rebel and 1 Dixie both good. Staff friendly. Only draw back was the wait. Will return!
One bite into this tasty delicious coney island style hot dog transported me back to other coney island hot dog joints I used to frequent in my younger years in Indiana. I will definately be back it was so good. And the fries were great aswell.
Great burgers and fries . Very friendly staff . I love that the atmosphere is exactly the same as it was decades ago .
Ok so maybe you know I like Chicago dogs. I went to Cloos for a Chicago fix... To note, this is a "Detroit style" Chicago dog...I say that because of the natural casing - with that snap. (Chicago traditionally a "Vienna Sausage"). Nuance aside, Cloos is a CLASSIC dog shop. Watch the con toss meats right onto the grill, front and center. I got a Chicago and a Coney. Both were on point, well packaged "to go" so no messy foil wrapper... The burgers looked good, I go for they next - bonus!! They sell beer!!

The food is decent. I go there because I am orginally from Michigan. I was charged 30 bucks for 2 regular fries, a double slider, a patty melt and regular hamburger.You're better of going to 5 guys or Burgers.And I'm sure this was done because my 16 yr old came in and paid for it. It's not that much tax for the bill to be 30 bucks. Shame on them!!
