Overpriced and very small portions. I have eaten at City Barbecue in another town and it was much better and bigger portions. Not sure what the difference is? But $17.99 for what you see in the photo and I had water to drink that's just ridiculous. You can have a good meal at a lot better restaurant for that kind of money and you want have to wait on yourself or clean the table when you leave.
Awesome pit-smoked BBQ and Brisket prepared 'low and slow.' The rich smoky flavor permeates through the meats to where you don't need any sauce. However if you prefer, their sauces compliment the meats quite well. Love their sides of potato salad and Mac cheese, they pair well with the brisket.
Excellent sandwich and sides, I had the smoked brisket and Brunswick stew. You order at a counter then go wait for your food, the line was fast and service was great. The food came out quickly and was so delicious and perfectly cooked. Good sweet tea too. Will return
I visited City BBQ for the first time today, and I was extremely pleased with all aspects of my visit. At first glance, the restaurant is very clean, well lit, and smells absolutely delicious. The staff was very friendly and engaged. They spoke to me and my mother in law right away, and took excellent care of us.I had a brisket sandwich, and we also ordered more brisket as well as a BBQ sandwich.I will definitely be coming back to visit and bring my friends.Definitely check this place out.
I’m very disappointed because when we came in to the restaurant we don’t know where we are going to sit because every table is dirty! Like they’re never clean it, and the plate and silverware are dirty too, we had to go asked for plastic silverware, Food is okay not very Woww like the advertising
Great service and good food. Excellent brisket and pulled pork! Highly recommend the Carolina style if you like vinegar based BBQ as much as I do. Delicious sweet tea as well. The only thing I don't recommend is the potato salad. It was very mushy, and bland in flavor.
This is the newest City BBQ restaurant in the Raleigh area. I have to say that our experiences at the other location have been better than the one we had at the new restaurant. They have the same things as the other City BBQ restaurant bit I didn't think it was up to par compared to the other one. The staff was friendly. There was a loud table near us that made the experience less pleasant as well. The food came out in a timely manner. The soda machine was out of order when we were there. We will try them out again to see if it was just an off day maybe.
Was a little disappointed in the food, first time buying it.The pulled pork was really greasy and the green beans had lots of stems not removed .Mac and cheese was yummy and the banana pudding was good.The corn bread which I always love at BBQ places was really dry and tasteless. For 42 dollars for a family of 3 probably won't try it again unfortunately.
A few thoughts on this place:- For $44 we got a brisket plate, a chicken sandwich, 2 sides and 2 fountain drinks. Seems kind of high for what you get.- Brisket was poor quality meat, overcooked and drenched in salt, as if they poured a 5 lb container on the brisket.- Chicken sandwich was marginally dry and overcooked.- if you sit outside you never know when your food is ready. They yell out your name inside, not via an intercom. If you plan to sit outside, just know you’ll have to go in and check to see if your order is ready.Had the total bill been around $20, I could swallow that and potentially give another try, but for $44 there are much better places around at that price point.
The staff were pleasant and attentive..the looks of this new store are appealing ...BUT....I have to say...this is the most disappointing meal I ever had at City BBQ... The brisket, as noted in my pictures, are over cooked and dried out .. the 3 ribs were equally over cooked and dry...resulting in little actual meat regardless of appearance.... I needed to actually use the bbq sauce to finish eating...what ever the reasons it needs to be dealt with or they will lose allot of loyal customers...including me ..
