We stepped out of the car and headed into the restaurant at 9:08PM. Because of the horrible service, we did not leave until almost 11PM. Several tables around us were not bussed and remained so for quite some time.Once it arrived, the food was decent. But having come from the gym, my son and I were almost nauseous for having had to wait so long.Twenty minutes for our wing appetizer, another 15 to 20 before she came to get the dinner order. Someone else finally brought us our entrees a half hour after that. We waited another 20 to 30 minutes for the bill once I requested it because the waitress took that long to write down the food orders for a table of 15. It wasn't until she saw me get up with my wallet to approach the bartender that she finally came over.Adding insult to injury is that the wait staff are using mobile ordering systems. They present the bill to you with the tip defaulted already at 20%. The waiter literally stands there and stares at you while you are paying the bill. So, if you do not want to tip 20%,, it presents a very awkward situation. Needless to say, she got a 20% tip for providing some of the worst service I've ever experienced. Even my son, who is normally very forgiving, was disgusted.We used to like the Ale House. It was one of the first restaurants we went to once the pandemic restrictions were lifted. It will be a long time before we return.UPDATE:Carolina Ale House Management was quick to respond to my review above. They sent me a $25 gift card and asked me to revisit the location with an updated review.My son and I returned about a week later and were very impressed with the turnaround. We were seated quickly and immediately taken care of. We even ordered the appetizer with the meal, but requested for the waiter to bring the appetizer first - and he did.Unlike the initial experience with the bad waiter, this waiter checked on us several times to make sure everything was good. We ordered our burgers medium rare and they came out the correct temperature. The food was prepared the way requested and we were well pleased.Even with checkout, he gave me the bill and walked away, so that I did not have to fill out the tip in front of him. Of course, he received a 20% tip anyway.Nice job, everyone!
The food is great and the prices are decent if you can actually get it hot. When we went today it was pretty slow plenty of staff and while our beers and appetizer came out timely and were delicious we waited almost 30 minutes for our entrees which were all cold when they came out. The manager at least saw to it that the food was replaced and was quite hot though no discount or compensation for the time.
Went with a group of eight people at 11 pm on the Friday of Easter weekend. The manager told us that due to a staffing shortage we'd have to split our group in half in order to be seated and we'd have at least a 45 minute wait. We waited an hour and both sets of our party were seated. Because of the staffing shortage it took a while for orders to be taken, etc. All the food was good and waitress was nice. Great atmosphere. We all had a fabulous night of fellowship and food.
Went on a Sunday morning at opening. Service was great. Lesha was our server and she was awesome. I tried three of the appetizers and they were spot on and delicious. The cheese curds with the dipping sauce, I drive an hour to have those. No complaints and I would definitely recommend this place....
I ordered a salad and a burger. The salad was for me and the burger is my friends…. I am vegan so I got a vegan friendly salad with balsamic dressing. When it arrives through Uber eats…. There was no dressing …. And I don’t have anything in my apartment I just moved into. I haven’t eaten since noon and had worked and got home and was craving a salad and now I have to go to bed hungry bc I’m not eating a salad with no dressing …. I tried calling in over 5 times but no pick up. I’m very understanding but forgetting the dressing for a salad is pretty important.will have to eat soggy veggies tomorrow for lunch and go out and buy dressing …. Yay me
My waitress was good but when we walked in the restaurant we were standing forever and were never acknowledged even though we were seen. I would have walked out had it not been so late and options were limited. Finally the short lady who became my waitress seated us. She was great but the taller girl could use more training. She walked behind the hostess area and never even said that someone would be with us shortly. A few minutes after being seated a similar situation occurred with another guest except she told them everything I wish I would have. It is very rude and I understood that customers frustrations. A quick "I'll be right with you" goes a long way. My wings were delicious but I would probably just stick to the other location. 4/4 12am
I’m not one to write negative reviews but this was truly something. My party of three was seated relatively quickly. However, we waited for over thirty minutes and no one even took our drink order. We asked if we had been helped and thought someone would take our order soon and it never happened. We eventually left without ordering anything and no one even noticed.
Went in for lunch, Corinna was a great server. Very personable and friendly. I only come here about twice a year, but she made me want to come back tomorrow! Great food, great atmosphere, great experience. Corinna, you set the bar high!
I hosted a baby shower at the ale house on Saturday, Feb 12 and the service was wonderful. Tee was our server and she did a fantastic job. She communicated clearly with those of us who arrived early to set up and she was attentive to each guest as they arrived. We had a large group, and she did a great job taking everyone’s orders and staying patient with our many requests. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend the space for hosting an event! Thank you, Tee!
Delicious food, friendly staff, tons of TVs that offer entertainment options for many different tastes. I've had their chicken tenders which are great and the ribeye steak which is also good, I've also sampled their meatloaf which was also tasty. Their french fries are good too and their sauteed vegetables were great. They have a full service bar, patio seating, and a pair of pool tables and a pinball machine. The only real problem is lack of parking. The parking fills up fast.
