First time returning in almost a year and I’m disappointed in some areas, not all. The food was good but the service and overall look the staff had was atrocious.I went on a Sunday evening with my friend and the staff looked like they came straight out of bed and decided they was going to come to work. I’m not joking, my server had bed hair and was wearing a really big canes jersey. I saw a woman in the kitchen with a bonnet on and everyone just generally looked tired. I understand if you’re tired! Just don’t bring that to work and show it on your face.I honestly blame whomever is the manager at this point because your staff should take pride in how they look while working. I also saw the woman in the bonnet stick her hand in the cup of limes (no glove) so that she could eat it with her food that was from another restaurant while sitting at the bar. I guess she was on her break. Pleaseeeee do better ale house because I like this location better than the other Raleigh location near falls of neuse

great place to meet up w. friends for food & drinks!

College spot through and through - lower your expectations and you’ll be probably fine. Garbage service. Food is fine. Drinks are fine. Mandatory gratuity after a certain time and quite frankly, it is unnecessary… pure money grab and an excuse for bad service post 9pm. It gets the job done but don’t expect much. Your money is best spent elsewhere but if you’re in a pinch, go for it.

I love this place but it also sucks. Great food, drinks, but service is always trash. Food takes days to come out. This last time, they told us "sorry u can't order, the kitchen is backed up". Like what? You cant just take the order. They have management problems they need to figure out. I'll probably still come back and be disappointed but the place sucks sometimes.

Have always had a great experience here, but tonight (02/15/2022) a server went above and beyond. My friend invited me to a group dinner, and the group was a little rowdy. As someone who has worked service industry, this is not the table I would have wanted to serve. But Shaniya (our server) was wonderful. She was completely professional and patient. Amazing would be an understatement.Huge shout out to Shaniya! Thanks for being awesome!!

Not impressed with this place at all. Service was not so good, food is typical bar food, atmosphere is okay, but other customers were load and rude. Beer is good, but overpriced. Took way too long for food and service.

Carolina Ale House off of Glenwood Ave- the bartender, khalil, was OUTSTANDING! my little sister and i came in for a quick dinner for her birthday. he went above and beyond to give my baby sis the best little birthday celebration that he could manage. not only that- but he had the best service that we've received in a WHILE. he was polite, prompt, every thing was exactly what we asked and he anticipated our every need. PERFECT service!thank you sooo very much, khalil! we will DEFINITELY come back- if for nothing else, your stellar service alone.

The service at the bar is worth less than used toilet paper. If I wanted open mic night at the comedy club then I would have went there. I ordered a spinach and grilled chicken fingers. I was served fried chicken fingers and the spinach never arrived. The bartender who I believe name is Neil ( long black hair, Mediterranean) told me that I never ordered grilled chicken fingers. When I asked about the rest of my order, it was confirmed that the item was never put into the system to be prepared. Long story short, I paid for a cider and paid a gratuity that certainly wasn't earned. Location is the only reason this place is standing.

We walked in and got sat down right away but everything after that was not good. To start with it took a long time to get our waters. Our food took FOREVER (like over an hour) and all we ordered was chicken tenders and a burger. When we finally got our food, my order was wrong so I asked for a side of sauce to make it right which I never got. Another at the table asked for silverware which we also never got. Once we got the checks, the server swiped the wrong cards for the wrong tickets. At that point I was so ready to go that we just worked it out between ourselves so we could leave. Overall we had terrible service and definitely will not be coming back to this location.

Last weekend we had friends in town that were looking for a good vibe and good eats and wanted to see the best of what NC had to offer. Ale House was the perfect place (which was no surprise to us). Sheridan, who accommodated our large group very well, was our waitress and her energy added to the fun, comfortable environment that we have come to enjoy every visit we have to this location. Please continue to uphold the standard of southern hospitality and never change your cheese curds recipe!
