Simon was the manager on duty that insisted on charging for a salad that was 1st sent out wrong, and the 2nd salad contained a wire from the kitchen from improper cleaning. Simon’s statement is since he is making one to go, Cantina 18 deserves to still be paid. The trust is gone, and paying for a salad that sat on the table as we left is worth it for safety, but PLEASE don’t eat without inspecting your food. My friend has a gluten allergy and as if that’s not enough to worry about, who wants to swallow a wire???? Horrible management decision Simon. Earn your cost of food by preparing it properly and safely the first time.
First time here. Drinks were cold!! Cheese dip was awesome. Short ribs tasted great. I did have a few fatty pieces in the nachos is why I have a 4 stars.
Amazing Mexican food.I had the Hawaiian Pork Belly Quesadillas and it was great. Also their chips, salsa and queso is excellent.
I cannot say enough positive things about this place. It is our go to for events. They have hosted everything from my mom’s Celebration of Life, company parties, and last weekend, my daughter’s Sweet 16 party. The management and staff are incredible. Jason always takes care of us and Brandon and Jenna were great behind the bar catering to both the younger and older crowd and every time I saw Thomas he was running around making sure everything was covered. In a post COVID world where people seem to be struggling to find the motivation to work, these guys are on top of their game. Thanks Cantina 18!
Loved this spot for brunch, they have the best Bloody Mary’s and take home cinnamon rolls.
I love Cantina 18! During the pandemic I started getting takeout from them frequently. My order has never been wrong and the food is always delicious. I also go for in person dining occasionally. The waiters are great and you always get exceptional service.
I want to start off with the positives on this review, the staff was super nice and very helpful. Very good overall service experience. Now on to rest of the visit. The food was horrible, we ordered the guacamole, and chicken burrito. The guacamole was extremely bland, like they just scooped out an avocado and put salsa on top with ZERO seasoning, for $8 it should have some pepper and salt IMO. The burrito was horrible, all the toppings were ICE cold and had no taste at all. Not sure if it's a staffing issue or the food is just that horrible.I definitely won't be coming back.
Sadly the food here was all the way around disappointing. Everything from the salsa to the guac to the enchiladas, was a 5 out of 10. We really wanted it to be better as they are very close to home and the ambiance is actually nice for a neighborhood bar/restaurant. Everything had almost no taste…and no, I don’t have COVID. The salsa and guacamole had no substance at all. The enchiladas were pre-made, where the sauce had soaked into the tortilla and thus vanished both in presentation and flavor. It had clearly been reheated as the rice was hard and oily. The “melted” cheese was firm from having cooled back down and was almost as cold as the shredded iceberg lettuce that covered it. The pickled onions had not been jarred for the proper amount of time, so they were firm and crunchy. Everything was simply wrong and the food, in a word…soulless.
I love Cantina 18!! I always get the shrimp tacos and add pineapple. I had to do a project for school and I interviewed Simon, the manager for it. He was so nice and really interesting to talk to!! I love the outdoor seating and the guacamole.
Visiting from NE BC Canada, friendly staff, fast service, great prices, great food, generous portions.
