Eating at Brigs was just such a great experience. The service was just incredible, particularly Mr. Max Belk and Mr. Josh Martin, and the food, ugh the FOOD, delicious. I especially enjoyed the fresh lemonade I highly recommend Brigs for anyone looking for a casual night out with lots of fun and good food! ??
I am so disappointed. I brought my friend here for her birthday breakfast today. The food was disgusting. First I received overcooked eggs. Her home fries were hard. Next I received half cooked eggs (someone's version of medium). I asked who was cooking & was told "the manager:the kitchen manager. She's been here a long time." Well I don't know about that but this is not the same Briggs I used to frequent quite regularly. The corned beef hash looked like slop. My bacon was overcooked. Why do you have to ask for napkins? I would say maybe it'll be better next time but I may not return. COVID changed Briggs too I see.
First time here on 3.26.22. The service my party experienced was very cold. The waiter seemed spaced out and came to the table maybe twice before I requested the check. We ordered the egg baskets with grits and the grits were horribly undercooked. When I informed the waiter (his second time at the table) he offered a solution of a different side ? I was puzzled because we wanted the grits. I informed the hostess with the glasses at check-out only to be told "some people like them runny, some people like them thick". When she said that, my response, "everyone wants them fully cooked though, tell the chef to add some water and let them cook a little longer until they're done" I own a catering business so I have known how to prepare grits since I was a child. The blatant disregard to what I told her is one of the reasons I won't be returning to this location. The other reason, the young male host with the wrinkled shirt was too unprofessional, especially the way he stares at the customers cause they couldn't get past the wrinkles. My first experience and last experience is shot but I hope better for others. Bon Appetit
Not sure who's cooking at Briggs today, but the food was NOT on point and we were very disappointed. I've dined at Briggs before and have enjoyed the food, but today was not the day. We ordered soft scrambled shell eggs that came out cooked hard and dry. The grits were so thick you could eat them with a fork and the temperature of the food was not good. I brought someone with me who had never been and he was not pleased!!!
Our second visit and it may have been better than the first. We stopped in for an early dinner after running errands all day. The food was as good as we hoped and the service was stellar. Our server even brewed a fresh pot of coffee and batch of sweet tea for us...that hardly ever happens even though it should be the norm.I had an omelet (something different than my last visit) and all of us enjoyed the food and excellent service. This is a new go through when we are in the area.
10 stars for Isabella! Her service is exceptional. If she was in my town, I would hire her immediately. This world is in turmoil and most restaurant workers are overworked and overwhelmed and it shows in their attitudes. The food was great but what will be more memorable to me is "Isabella's awesome personality and her smile through the mask. We will be back and we want Isabella to serve us again. Give her a raise PLEASE.
Am surprised by all the good ratings. Just because you slap butter on everything, doesn't make it good food. Because I asked for no butter, I received no taste. They use super cheap ingredients. Even grits with no butter should have a hominy flavor. Theirs were like eating flavorless goo. Eggs should have an orange color, not pale yellow. Dousing the food with hot sauce was the only way I could palette a few bites.
I had lunch at Brigs today, with some friends. First time I have been there. I ordered the smoked salmon with pesto, avocado and lettuce on a kaiser bun, and it was delicious! The salmon was very good, as was the pesto. It came with crispy, hot French fries and it was a great lunch. My friends had the broccoli salad and chicken salad, and those were very good too.
Great food. Good prices. Lovely staff. Always a little bit of a wait so be prepared but it is worth it.
If you’re looking for a good place to go have a great and not expensive breakfast Briggs is the place to be make sure you show up early the lines can get kind of long
