Located on the outskirts of North Hills (over near the Wal-Greens).Let me start with the food. The food was mostly amazing. Bread with an olive oil mix (a nice mix of garlic, parsley, basil, thyme, oregano, etc.), then we had Mussels Josephine (onions, tomatoes, garlic, in a basil and lemon wine sauce) as a starter. The mussels were perfectly tender, the flavor is unique and craveable. Absolutely will have these mussels again.Entrees were the firm fish mahi mahi (grilled, no sauce for me) which was perfection, the creamed spinach delicious, a small scoop of potatoes were average. My wife ordered the sirloin (cooked medium-rare - perfect) and the crab cake (very, very average) with broccoli (overcooked as you can see in photo) and rice (very good). I would rate the food as a solid 9/10.Let's end with service. Our server was efficient but definitely unengaged with us (took orders, of course, but offered no suggestions, never asked about how things were). For me, service is like 50% of the experience, and this one fell flat (I think we tend to be on the gracious side). More painful was seeing some other servers really making the experience special for their tables. I know people have bad days so hopefully that's the case. 5/10.
The ahi sashimi starter was fantastic, the Chilean Sea Bass was melt in your mouth phenomenal, and the fontina pork chop was incredibly flavorful. Side of asparagus was pretty limp, but not a deal breaker. Carrot lava cake was mediocre and not really a lava cake, more just topped with warmed cream cheese. Service was ok, except for some reason the server found it necessary to continuously throw her co-workers under the bus ie: apps and salads came together instead of coursed, and this was blamed on the salad chef, then every martini that arrived consequently came along with an excuse about the bartender taking too long (when actually, it wasn't that long to wait for a martini, in a packed house, on a Saturday night!). The constant excuses did nothing more than make us focus on the negatives and create a problem, when there really wasn't one.
My first return visit to Bonefish since the pandemic started, and it did not disappoint. The first thing that stood out to me was the high level of teamwork among the manager and crew members. The restaurant was near-total capacity, but the service was personable and exceptional. I dined alone tonight but was treated with the same courtesy and patience given to larger parties. I ordered the Rock Butterfish with creme spinach and green beans. I wish I had taken a picture, but I was hungry at the time. The presentation was perfect; the Butterfish was seasoned and cooked just right. And the creme spinach and green beans were delicious. delightful meal and one that made me happy to spend my money. And on top of all that my waiter (Billy) was professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. Shoutout to the Managing Owner Jeff and his assistants for assembling a diverse, knowledgeable, and experienced team.I look forward to returning soon!!
Food and service was great!
Our food was excellent. Our drinks were perfect. The staff and waiter did an amazing job. We really enjoyed this location and thought everything was perfect. Says a lot during a time, when we seem to never find five star service.
The service wasn’t great tonight. I called in the order, I was put on hold and was on hold for 3 songs that were played while I was on hold. I called back. I placed the order. My husband picked up the order and they forgot to give us the garlic mashed potatoes . The salad had hearts of palms in it . Good thing I wasn’t allergic to it. Might be a good thing to list ingredients for the salad. Not happy with the service tonight........
shrimp was really good and the staff was really Friendly. Mrs Tia was great
Great service from our waiter and his support staff. The food overall was great. I'll break it down below. The only thing missing from this place to get 5 stars - sticky bathroom floor and the host at the front door was definitely not on the better side of "hospitable" or "welcoming".Bread with Pesto/Butter - delicious free starter got us going. Warm, fresh, and just what we needed to get our hangry out. 5/5Crab cakes were the best we've had so far since moving to the area a couple of months ago. Could use a bit flakier crust, but overall very good. 8/10Steak & Lobster / Steak & Shrimp & scallops - everything was cooked perfectly and it tasted so good. Personally though, I'd season my tenderloin a bit more. 7/10
I’d made a reservation since we were going on a Saturday evening (had appointment in the area) and that’s the only reason we stayed after I spotted the sanitation rating of 90.5. I think you’ve got to have plenty of problems for the rating to be that low. On the bright side, our waitress Jasmine was wonderful. Her pleasant attitude and timeliness made the meal a success. My grilled trout was delicious but the side of broccoli was over cooked. My husband enjoyed his bang bang shrimp and pot stickers. Would I return? Probably not.
Logan was excellent and food was delicious.
