Good food, great flavor and swell hospitality! We came down from Philly and enjoyed this place! Line looked long but moves fast.

Trip Advisor came through big time. Best pancake I have ever eaten. It’s giant so you don’t need more than one. My only comment is they need real maple syrup to go with this phenomenal pancake to complete the awesomeness!

The wait staff was an absolute delight and accommodating as I didn’t quite understand the “local items” on the menu. It’s got a cozy “very southern” diner menu with a restaurant feel. The location is quaint, historic and adorable. It’s definitely a place something you’d want on a visit to North Carolina.

This was a real hearty southern breakfast. Huge servings and great staff. You're gonna want to rub your belly & take a nap at the table. Lol great quality, great flavor.

Love Big Ed’s and like going for lunch when I can choose between the delicious lunch specials or breakfast items. The biscuits with molasses is a must and I never pass on the chance for chicken and pastry. True southern cooking at its finest ?

Great place for breakfast! I had the French Toast, scrambled eggs, bacon and a biscuit! Who would have thought such basic foods could taste so good. If you haven’t been here you have to try it! The wait staff is excellent - Friendly, helpful and nice to talk to! It’s also in a great location to take a walk around after such a filling meal! See what you think!!

The service is always excellent. I had Jess today, but every time my partner and I come here, the service is always good. I was lucky enough today to track the NC mountain trout, and it was excellent. Highly recommend the cornbread. Was not too impressed with the cucumber salad, but I am always happy coming here. Also, the staff are very very good at refilling your coffee. The moment you need a refill, they are there.

Visited for the first time today and this place definitely exceeded our expectations! We arrived a little before 9 and waited just a few minutes for a table. The food was phenomenal and came out quickly- I had the chicken fried chicken with a pancake and my husband had Big Ed’s country breakfast. We also got biscuits and as expected, they were delicious. Our waitress- I think her name was Jessie- was super friendly and very helpful. We were thrilled with our entire experience and will be back again!

First let me share that I've only had breakfast here. So this rating is based on that. But I must say they do the basics well. The staff is very polite. And how many places can you find fried bologna!!! Got to love it! I plan on returning next time I'm in town.

Great hearty breakfast staff was great. Parking is a little of a struggleSecond visit..... great food great staff still
