Awesome. My wife has celiac and the gluten free option were numerous. Waitress super friendly and knowledgeable. Inside decor features patches and license plates of fire fighting departments from across the US.
Amazing service, great food, fantastic cause! Barry's Cafe was created by Barry Doyle in 1992 as a place to support his firefighter friends, and to make every customer have a better day. This is still true today! Barry's shows their support with authentic firefighter decor, patches from patrons, and a charity that provides food for firefighters and other emergency personnel. Our group tried this restaurant for the first time on a whim, and everyone (from picking eaters, children, and gluten-free diners) had a fabulous meal! Good nearby parking, and while they were busy, they still made room for our group of seven so we didn't have to wait! They even had a children's game placemat for the little one in our group! We will all definitely be back!
Incredible service, and food! The owner is so amazing you can tell she loves what she does! Worth the wait! It was a great place to eat at! Highly highly recommend!
Food was ok. Service was above average. It was alright, but there are definitely some better breakfast options in the area.
I wish that I could give this place 0 stars. My husband & I came in Sunday afternoon for brunch. We noticed a strange vibe immediately after walking in, and then I noticed our waitress glaring at us as we sat down. She was extremely unfriendly the entire time, barely wanting to even speak to us, all the while being friendly to the tables around us, which I’m assuming were probably regulars. When she brought us our check, she literally just slapped it down on the table and walked away without saying anything. I chalked it up to them maybe just being stressed from a busy day, but she seemed to have an issue with us specifically. We always try to be polite to servers & I don’t know what we did to create an issue, but we won’t be coming back. I left a tip but wish I wouldn’t have, and that’s the first time I’ve ever almost NOT tipped someone. This was the worst service I’ve ever had & the most uncomfortable I’ve ever felt in a setting like this. As we were walking out, we heard another group mention feeling unwelcome too. Food was mediocre for the price too. Save your time & go to IHOP or literally anywhere else.
Barry's was PACKED today and still our waitress was attentive, helpful, and funny. I wish I caught her name but it was a bit loud. She had a tattoo of a bird on her arm though. Complete gem of a place and can't wait to come back. Delicious food and great atmosphere.
The food and atmosphere was great! The waitress was very attentive and friendly. Prices are a little on the high side, but a lot of places have up their prices recently.
A friend and I joined each other for breakfast here today. We both ordered full meals and we enjoyed our time catching up over them. The waitress was great and even after bringing the check said we could stay & take our time. However, the owner eventually told us we had to leave the table or she wouldn't make any more money??!! No one was waiting for a table and the restaurant was not packed. Yet again, I would have loved to keep supporting local business, even referring friends there and creating a recurring breakfast date with friends but since they didn't want us to be there, we will NEVER be back. Congrats! You got your next customers but lost us for LIFE.PS. You made a choice to let a large group use your back room & close the other side of your restaurant, don't penalize paying customers for that.PSS. Your pricing strategy still needs work...a tiny brewed Coffee shouldn't cost 2.95 (A grande at Starbucks is 2.75) and the size of (cold when served) breakfast we got shouldn't be $9.
Hidden GEM in Cary! The best all day Breakfast and awesome Burgers! Love thier dedication to the local firefighters!
This is one of our “Go To” spots for breakfast! If you are looking for a “small town” vibe where everyone is very warm and welcoming and not have to overpay for an amazing breakfast, this place is for you. Seating and staffing has changed quite a bit since the pandemic (as with all restaurants) but we’ve never felt they compromised on the quality of their food or their service here. They get busy at breakfast especially during weekends so plan to get there early!
