Amazing food and awesome staff!!
Wonderful experience, great restaurant and atmosphere. Food is always amazing!
Absolutely loved the Colt Firearms Room! The food, service, and atmosphere were top notch. My new favorite place!
Enjoyed our dinner at the Angus Barn. Not the #1 meal in the area but it's a great mix of food and experience. Definitely worth at least one visit. Complimentary cheese, crackers, pickle tray, bread and butter are always a nice treat. My bone-in ribeye was tasty. The warmed chocolate chess pie with ice cream, syrup and whipped cream was a nice ending to the meal.
We get the opportunity to go to the Angus barn once or twice per year. It is consistently good and presents a fairly good value for what you pay. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I always recommend sitting upstairs for the better ambiance.
Our four top with reservations was promptly seated and quickly visited by two wait staff. A cocktail, one wine by the glass and a bottle of Zinfindel were served and all were nicely done, proper temperature on the wine being important to this group. Two filets, beef spare ribs, a ribeye, baked potatoes, salad, brocolli, and a french onion soup were ordered. The soup was common as were the salads and baked potatoes. The filets were good but nothing special, the ribeye was OK, but again nothing above average. The beef spare ribs made an impressive presentation and were reported to be very good and tender. We finished the bottle of wine at a leisurely pace and skipped dessert. Given the overall impression, atmosphere, service, and food I rate restaurant very good, but maybe a tad overpriced.
We were seated at a rear table with a view of the scullery with all the noise and unpleasant sights like discarding food, employees taking a drink break, etc. Our waitperson was great! Then the food came. Steak not as ordered but to send it back would mean everyone else's dinner would either be cold or I would be eating alone! Our daughter's filled pasta dish was dry and almost inedible. My wife's salmon was underdone and she ate very little of that. My baked potato was dry with a piece of hard cheese on top that I discarded. Were it not for the sour cream and butter I would not have eaten it. I've never had a meal there that I felt was worth the money and I don't consider myself cheap! I don't mind paying a higher price for the ambiance/above averge food. This was our out-of-town daughter's first trip to the restaurant and she was very non-plussed by it all. Actually, she suggested that on her future trips home that we eat local. We concur completely!!
Owner has decided to double down on customer unfriendly poor managers who are unable to effectively respond to or solve any problems no matter how minor a customer may have. Owner called me personally at dinner embarrassing me with an uncalled for and tasteless conversation in front of my dinner companions and shockingly wanting me to accept responsibility for their shortcomings. Unacceptable. No customer should ever be embarrassed this way or even approached this way about the shortcomings of ones own business. Unacceptable. I cannot recommend this business and will no longer patronize them after many, many years of friendship, help, and patronage of this restaurant. It's just beyond the pale. Beyond the pale. I have issued checks for $1.80 each for each entree that was delivered to my table first burned and then ice cold paid personally to the owner. Enter at your own risk.
It’s a must visit every time I’m in the area! First time here was back in 2006! 16 years later and it’s just as good as I remember it! Well, it’s actually only gotten better! The service is professional and friendly. As a solo diner, I was not forgotten about, and treated just as well as the bigger groups. The food was so delicious! I forgot how much you get! The steak was cooked perfectly to my liking, and worth every cent! Definitely walked out full! Next time I’m around, I’ll be back!
My husband and I booked a private dinner at the Angus Barn after our wedding ceremony and it was perfect! The booking process was really easy and the private dining coordinator (thanks Nicole!) was so easy to get in touch with. The dinner itself was fantastic, the room was decorated so elegantly, the table setting was beautiful, and the service was outstanding. The food was out of this world, we were able to select our own menu and they were able to accommodate a dietary restriction for one of the guests in our party. Best service I have ever had, our host of the evening Mike was wonderful and so accommodating. The space was so beautiful and elegant, we also selected the option to have the private bar open to serve us drinks before the dinner. It was an incredible experience and everyone had such a great time. I truly felt like royalty, I highly recommend!
