My son and I stopped for coffee, tea, and a ham pastry. The beverages were the best I've had in years but that's no surprise as the staff uses hand-crafted brewing methods unlike other places. The staff was friendly and attentive. The pastry case contained confections that rose to daring heights. I conspired to get completely inside the case but feared I'd never emerge from it. Guess I'll settle for more visits and calibrated portions of pastry.
Great staff and great coffee. The iced carmel latte is my favorite.
Today was my first time going to 42 & Lawrence. I was pleasantly surprised. The coffee was a 6/10, I wasn’t wowed but it was good. The pricing was reasonable, but what made this a five-star experience was the fact that my little dog was able to come in with me! One of the workers even offered her a pup cup, which she gladly accepted.I will be coming here often, as I travel with my dog everywhere and now we have a coffee shop we both can enjoy!
Love Larry’s coffee and the atmosphere! Perfect place to chill for a bit downtown!
This is my FAVORITE coffee shop! I'm not a fan of Starbucks and their prices for overrated coffee beverages. 42 is literally 100 times better than any coffee shop I've been to in the triangle. The atmosphere is inviting and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I drive 10 minutes out of my way some morning on the way to work just to come get a Chai latte from 42. When I say their hot Chai lattes are the best I've ever had, I'm not joking. When I got to work after stopping by 42, I let 3 different coworkers taste my latte and they were stunned at how amazing it tasted! Now when I stop by in the mornings, the barista knows my size and drink and starts making it right away. I love the feel of this place and don't mind going out of my way to get the best beverages! And the prices are cheaper than Starbucks. I'd much rather support a local shop, especially when the quality is better by far and it's less expensive. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Wonderful little Café. Especially the women that served us.The coffee is super tasty and I can highly recommend the Lemon-Muffin!
The coffee is exceptional, but if you’re even remotely in a rush, better place an advance online order or stick to the grab and go case. The espresso bar takes an unbelievably long time. Also unfortunately seems if you’re friends with the staff you get prompt service and a warm smile but if not, well, back of the line.
My mom and I got a London Fog tea and a chai latte. They were both amazing, and the croissant was great as well!
Decided to work from the coffee shop one day and this spot was recommended. It is pretty small but cute. Not as warm as I would expect for a coffee shop but it was downtown Raleigh. My Latte was cold when they gave it to me which is weird. When I told them, they were very hesitant to redo it. Informed me they did not have a microwave. I said "good thing I don't want you to reheat my drink ". They then made it over.
Love this little gem right beside the green space (Moore Square). The owner is SO friendly and the coffee is superb. Made with lots of love!
