After doing research of places to eat in or around New Bern, I decided on going to Sara's for pizza. We ordered traditional bone in garlic parmersean wings for an appetizer. They were very good, fresh and flavorful. Our waitress was so awesome! It was her first day by herself and you would have thought she worked there for years! She had a ton of personality and was very helpful with ordering and local recommendations. The menu had a ton of options, and the pizza was amazing! It was cooked perfectly and had so much flavor! As far as pizza goes, it is some of the best pizza I have ever had. They had live music outside and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The inside dining area is kind of small, so if you go with a large group there may be a wait. I highly recommend, we will be going back!
Well unfortunately I didn't get any food to give it a true review. I didn't know that I basically have to order (for delivery) the day before (I'm a spoiled Long Islander, this never happens ?). Dont know about you, but this woman doesn't know (most times,), until it's about time to prepare dinner, or eat, that I DONT WANT TO cook lol. And, there's no Chinese food delivery at all (who ever heard of "that"). Ugh, what to make ! I think I'm just hungry lol. Heard some good things, and really wanted to try ? DANG, I shoulda called. I went on line this evening around 1815 (6:15)pm) And the moment I hit the delivery button, it changed to tomorrow. I am a patient woman, and believe in giving everyone the benefit of the doubt, so I'll put my feed bag on again soon, and give it another try. ?? Thanks much for getting back to me so quickly. I'm giving it another star for attentiveness!
My first visit, very impressive, the meal wonderful! Wait staff most accommodating, this was the perfect experience. Well worth the visit.
We've been looking everywhere for good chicken wings since we moved to the area. Stumbled on this place last night. Ordered fried mushrooms, hot parmesan garlic chicken wings, baked ziti & shrimp tacos w/ fries. The mushrooms were breaded great but a few of the mushrooms were still a little frozen. No big thing. The shrimp tacos were delicious but a little fishy. Didn't stop us from eating them. The baked ziti was phenomenal & I can't wait to have it again. But the star of this review is those chicken wings!! Nice flavor & crisp! Loved that they weren't breaded. Not spicy in the least but if you ask nicely, they'll give you a side of hot sauce. I'll definitely make the trip there for those wings again!
Trying local places on vacations makes for adventure! Sara’s Big Apple gave us some great food to refuel on our drive from Hatteras to Wilmington. We tried pizzas by the slice and they were huge! Two others in our family tried a calzone and Stromboli. Those were gigantic! I definitely recommend sharing! Great service with no wait on a Sunday evening.
I was hoping to like Sara's. I called in for a large pizza and bacon cheese fries. The man who took my order was very rushy, after I would say one thing, he was quick to say "is that it" I'd say, "no, I would like toppings on it" him, "is that t?" Back and forth like that. The pizza sauce was thin, lite in color, like they had added water to the last spoonful of sauce. The cheese was greasy and kept sliding off the pink water sauce. The toppings were sparse as well, 8 pineapple bits and 7 sausage pieces, on a large. Bacon cheese fries, limp and no flavor. Not impressed.
We haven’t had a pizza from Sara’s in quite some time. Ordered 2 pies yesterday and we cannot believe how delicious they were. Keep up the good work!
As usual, the pizza was good, but it would be nice if they would have some sauce on the brush when they paint the pizza with sauce.A few more green peppers and onions wouldn't hurt either.
Great food, friendly atmosphere. There was 4 of us and each has something different. We were not disappointed. Highly recommend, friendly staff!
Awesome little spot to take the family and enjoy delicious food!! Friendly and hospitable staff. Excellent service from more than one of the beautiful ladies. Definitely going back!!
