One of our favorite places in North Carolina! The food and drinks are always on point. The service is great too! Our server, Morgan, was awesome! Be ready for an explosion of flavors there!! Definitely the best grits I ever tasted!!
Small but comfy seafood spot in the heart of downtown. Shrimp & Grits was a unique take on the classic with a spicy Thai Chili Sauce. Very good. Grouper Fish n Chips is extremely noteworthy. Friendly staff. The quest for the best Shrimp n Grits in town continues... But definitely Top 2. #1 if you're looking for a something different. Cheers.
First time here, we sat at the bar, and ordered Grouper strips as an appetizer... They were absolutely amazing!! Will definitely go back for more!
Had some great sea food here while staying in town. You won't be disappointed. Great choice on the menu, and some good beers too.
I had the salad with fried oysters and seared tuna. Really amazing. Everything on the menu looked great and the place had just the right vibe.

We were looking for a place open on Easter evening and found Mj's Raw Bar and Grill. Food was delicious, prices were reasonable ambience was simple, somewhat loud, but that's to be expected when it's popular. I had oysters on the half shell with garlic steamed mussels and my wife had the best shrimp and grits she ever had, smoky, spicy and cheesy.There were a number of locals coming in for their take-out, which is always a good sign.
Seafood pot pie, shrimp basket, oysters on the half shell, peel and eat shrimp fabulous. Service excellent. Christy was very attentive. Front of house host jumps in and really manages. Very friendly, very busy, everyone smiling.
I had dinner here with a friend and enjoyed it. We had to wait about 20+ minutes to eat on a Tuesday night. I ordered the grouper taco which they told me as I ordered was more like a wrap. Clearly it was a wrap, why not list it as one like the others? That said it was good and so were the hush puppies.
Wow! Great find! Incredible raw oysters, and a really interesting menu--something for everyone! Wonderful seafood selection, and superb service.
