This used to be our go to Mexican Restaurant, until June 18, 2022. I made reservations for Fathers Day that Monday. The gentleman said no problem we will have a table for 7 waiting for you. My family arrived at 6:00 and I noticed there was no place to sit. The waitress came to the stand and I told her we had reservations for 6 and she looked around and stated a lot of people today had reservations. She sent us to a back round booth that had something all over the seats and dripping from the pictures around the seats. I asked her about it and she said oh that must be from it getting to hot in here. It took over an hour for us to receive our food. Once it came, my son did not get what he ordered, my husbands meal was burnt. He sent the plate back. She wanted to make it right, but at that time we were going on 2 hours and he told her to just to forget it and he walked out. The waitress kept apologizing and stating they were under staffed and only had three people working the floor that day. Needless to say, we will not be going back there.
Best Mexican food in New Bern by far. I was really disappointed when we moved here because all of the Mexican restaurants are terrible. And then this one came along and surprised us with really good authentic food that feels like it's really Mexican food. Shrimp Mi cabana Dish is amazing... Lots of fresh veggies and the sauce is delicious. The Spanish rice is really really good. Chicken tortilla soup is also very very good. ?
Mi Cabana is a great place to go for authentic, delicious Mexican food. The staff is friendly and attentive. If you are a fan of good Mexican food give them a try. I like the enchiladas and get them frequently.
Server Victor was attentive and kind. The food came out quickly and accurately. Portions were large and delicious. Definitely a worthwhile experience. Great team work all around too.
The atmosphere is very colorful and relaxing. The staff is quite friendly and the menu is varied, offering something for everyone. I ordered a combo plate and the food (rice, refried beans, a soft taco and a beef burrito) was hot and delicious. Loved the red sauce (tasty and not too spicy).The prices were reasonable. I am looking forward to a return visit.?
This restaurant has the best food drinks and atmosphere ? . It is the best Mexican restaurant in New Bern, NC. The wait for your food is short and the wait staff is superb. The have a wonderful bar and the drinks are top shelf. The have great sweet tea and they make your food dishes the way you like them. If you want to add something to your meal you can as well as take something out. My favorite anniversary ❤ spot!

Returned to this restaurant again this week, thinking maybe it's gotten better but NOPE. My food as well as another's was cold when it got to the table. The presentation was good, but the more you eat the colder the meat etc. becomes on the inside. The managers were nice enough to give a small discount, but it wasn't enough to get me to return. I'm done!2 Months Ago.... The food here is pretty good, but it's always cold when it gets to the table. The service is horrible. They would rather play on their phone than wait on the diners.
