Visited recently on a Saturday mid morning. Pretty busy but took over an hour to get food. After it arrived took another 10 minutes to get condiments that I had asked for while ordering. Overall the food was ok but not worth the long waits. Had I not been with friends I would have just left
I always get their cheeseburger and a hot dog. But veggies and specials are always good too! Extra nice staff- efficient too!

We had the hamburger plates. We didn't order ahead but the wait wasn't that long and the dining room was full. The hamburger plate was kind of an old school take on a classic. Really good! Fries were good. We'll be back to check out the rest of the menu soon. Staff was super nice and very helpful.
I have been going to Ghent for three locations now. The food had always been amazing and the staff friendly. The owners are some of the nicest people that you will ever meet and often come out to greet and talk to customers.In very recent past there were fluctuations in price that I didn't understand, things were made clear by CURRENT staff and it has become a great and welcoming experience every time.Anyone that wants to feel welcome and at home the moment they walk in the door, this is the place.
Literally the best place to eat if you want some good comfort food. The hot hamburger plate is my favorite, I could eat it every single day. Their breakfast is also amazing, the omelets are to die for, the oatmeal is sooooo good, and the pancakes are massive and the BEST sweet tea ever. Everything from the food, cleanliness, fast and accurate service, not mention the amazing smiling servers, The owners are some of the best people you will ever have the pleasure of knowing and they always give back to the community. Lastly they have a little something for everyone on their menu to include gluten allergies. 10/10 recommend if your in New Bern.
One of my favorite places to eat! The food is always great. The staff are courteous and exceed expectations. Their Hot Hamburger plate is famous and number one in my book. I love Hot Hamburger Plate nights and how this restaurant gives back to the community they support. My regular go-to place to eat!
What can I say that hasn't already been said? You're treated like family when you walk in and feel like home during every visit. The hot hamburger plate is the best in New Bern HANDS DOWN. I've grown up with Ghent, so many awesome memories, and can't wait for my kids to make some of their own too.
If you get the chance, check this place out! Great service great food and a very friendly staff. The owners are also very concerned about the entire customer experience. I highly recommend Ghent Sandwich Shop!!
