Very chill ambiance. Nice lighting, uncrowned. Excellent food. Made space for us without a reservation. Service was great. Would love to have this restaurant in my town
Decided to stop in New Bern while driving down to NC from VA. Made a reservation but after some traffic delays we realized we would not be on time. Called the restaurant and the hostess, Katy was nice enough to move us to another slot. So glad she did. We had a great time. Started off with a smoked Old Fashioned and my wife had a martini. Then we had the Pimento Cheese with Pork Rinds to start. For dinner, I had the Cider Braised Pork Cheeks over grits and collards. My wife had the Hot Chicken Sandwich with collards. We really enjoyed our visit at Cyprus Hall. Great food, service and venue. Well worth the stop and we will be back.
Writing this review as we order dessert which I know it’s gonna be amazing. We are a table of 8 and got a variety of dishes and all of them were outstanding. Cocktails were also delicious and service has been incredible. This has been a beautiful surprise! If you can order the paella I 100% recommend. 10/10
Had a wonderful dinner here with family. I don't know what I was expecting from New Bern, but this far exceeded any expectations. Starters were possibly my favorite part of the meal, the hot pimento cheese with chicharrones was delicious, as was the fried okra with boiled peanut remoulade. Perfectly breaded and fried, and the sauce was reminiscent of a white bbq sauce. The grilled octopus appetizer, to which my son in law added some scallops to make a full meal was excellent. Great flavor and cooked perfectly. Pizza was enjoyed by the 3 year old, as well as his mother. The roasted beets were perfectly paired with citrus and goat cheese, and my son's burger with bacon jam was great too. His favorite was the strawberry cake for dessert, and he doesn't usually go for cake. Our waitress, Jessica, was excellent!!! Very friendly, and remembered my daughter and son in law from the last time they visited.The wine list has some excellent choices, and they have a Coravin wine preservation system, so you can get some wines by the glass that aren't often on the menu as a glass pour. If you want to splurge and try a glass of Opus One (or my preference would be for any of their Orin Swift selections) without going for the whole bottle, you can do that here. Overall, we had an amazing meal, great service, and good time to commune with family!
Excellent, probably the best upscale place to eat in New Bern. The food is outstanding, I had the paella, there were clams, shrimp, fish and shell fish also in it, the rice was perfect too. A lovely place with great atmosphere. We sat in the window with their lift up window, a perfect place to sit and watch the world go by. We will return here. Staff are very friendly and helpful. You will not regret eating here.
Came here after finding it on yelp and we were happy we came. Great drinks (dark and stormy with homemade ginger beer, amazing) and food. We had the cheeks and loved them with the grits and the collards, crispy smashed potatoes and a bib salad. I would order them all again. Great food, atmosphere and wait staff. Great job everyone!!!

At first, the table we were shown was in a room with a large, loud party and we asked for an alternate location. They accommodated our request and we had seating on the indoor balcony. Very impressed!We both got the Brisket Burger which was phenomenal! The grilled asparagus as a side was amazing!Happy to have been recommended to this establishment!
It is rare you find a restaurant that shines in terms of service and food. Cypress Hall does just that with ambiance first rate as well. Over the last few months, we have frequented New Bern and each time we look forward to dining there. Without exception, every meal has been spectacular. Each time, though, we are sure to order the grilled asparagus.
Food is always amazing with on point presentation and flavor! Never disappoints!
