Went to Taste for take-out banh mi sandwiches due to the good reviews. My sandwich (chicken banh mi) consisted of 2 large globs of chicken skin instead of meat. I considered taking it back to the restaurant but considering that my daughter ordered the same thing and had very skimpy, small pieces of meat, I decided it wouldn't be worth the drive back to the restaurant. The sandwich bread was good but small, and fillings (including vegetables) were very sparse.
Amazing! And since it's covid we were able to order, pay and get our food outside safely. Thank you to the staff for your kindness and consideration for others. We'll be coming back ❤️❤️❤️❤️
One of the better Vietnamese places in the Raleigh areas, we may try it again. However, I gave three stars because the prices from the website compared to my bill were more and I was shorted a total of three egg rolls (they are pretty good- still searching for the best in the area however), I ordered two orders of egg rolls supposed to be three per order per the website and photos but only received a total of four and they are small and my Saigon special was supposed to come with an egg roll and did not. The fried rice was a bit spicy somehow even though I added no spice when ordering, thankfully my kiddos ate it.
Horrible service! We love the outdoor dining options and the food is decent but the service is just unbearable every time we visit ( unfriendly, unresponsive and dirty tables). Be careful of the hidden 18% tip added to your check without any notice, which is supposedly to be charged only for parties of more than 6 people. I’ve confronted the server for adding it on secretly when I dined outdoor as party of 4 people. She just replied “I gave you nice hot food to eat, you won’t even give me 18% anyway?” I was just speechless.
I stopped by to have lunch with a work colleague (12/30/21) and ordered the Saigon Special. Not long after leaving I started feeling nauseous and dizzy. Figured out I had food poisoning and spent the rest of the day vomiting, resting and other things I won't list here. Never experienced food poisoning in my entire life and this was my first meal of the day. Awful experience and unlikely to be able to appreciate new years tonight because of it.
What can I say—I have been routinely ordering food from them, and this place never ever disappoints. Their Pho, Banh Mi, Turmeric fish (pictured here) are all freaking delicious, and perfect when you are feeling under the weather as well! Thanks for all the great food you cook.
Food is great. Great prices, great Customer services. I love BUN BO HUE and Banh Mi and Pho in here.
Last time I called, the Pho was gluten free. I didn’t think it was. Called again today, and only the Chicken and Vegetable Pho are Gluten Free. Horrible Gluten Free understanding and Menu. Will not eat here again. Many of these dishes should be gluten-free based on Vietnamese recipes. Too bad.
I want to preface this review by saying that we have ordered here several times before but most of what we get is the vegetarian pho. The Pho is very very decent, definitely preferable to a lot of the restaurants in the area.Today, my girlfriend and I decided to try some of the other dishes on the menu and ordered the vegetarian vermicelli and the vegetarian curry (named the vegetarian delight on the receipt) and not only was the meal extremely disappointing, almost insulting. The service was even worse. The vegetarian vermicelli was basically boiled noodles and boiled vegetables with the almost no seasoning on the vermicelli. The curry was basically coconut milk in fish sauce. Nothing else. When we called to give feedback for the food, mind you - we were very polite, we were interrupted frequently and eventually the lady working rudely said “well no one complains. So good bye” and hung up. We called again and she said “yes bring it over” after my girlfriend insisted on a refund. When we got there she aggressively mumbled about how we didn’t like the food so we shouldn’t bother coming there again. I think moving forward we will take her kind advice.
Cheap prices for some pretty cheap food. It wasn't good and it wasn't bad. I ordered the vehtable stir fry and I am almost certain that it was made with fresh rice and frozen peas and pre cut frozen carrots, really just bad. You could taste how little they cared. My family and I were hungry on a Saturday night and managed to find this place and it was actually pretty busy, hoping that was an omen of good food. It was not.
