Called for a to-go order for two (nothing crazy an order of chicken tenders and a pork tater with an appetizer) and they told us it would be 30 minutes before it was ready, no problem at all. We come to pick it up around 40 minutes after we called and they told us it still wasn’t ready, no problem again as I have a seat in the to-go area. Another 30 minutes goes by and there’s hardly anyone in the restaurant and tons of wait staff running around but no food coming out of the kitchen. After asking twice if I could get an update on my to-go order and they said I’ll go find out with no results I did something I’ve never done which was leave and give up. I know that we are to be understanding during times of being short staffed but when there’s a ton a waitstaff running around but no one clear person who knows what’s going on and then when you call to speak to someone to tell them to cancel your order, their phone is disconnected, it’s a sad day. In tough economic times and when you’re prepared to spend what would’ve been $60, you have to do better if you’re going to stay in business long.
Every time I try to order takeout here it takes twice as long as they tell me it will. How is takeout service so slow?? Food is ok. Nothing special. After this trip I will not be trying again.
The food was delicious and plentiful to say the least. Just wish that they had more server's. Our waitress was great. But the wait is kind of long for a table and to be served. Again, only because they need more help. Worth the wait ☺
Placed our order to go and it was received pretty quick. More food than we could eat. It was Delicious!!! Thank You for the Good Service and Good Food ?
Wonderful staff provides great service. The food is delicious. No really. It's good food and you get a full meal for the price. So much better than other bland BBQ places. Rustic warm interior
I like this place but hate the wait typically encountered to be seated. Taking reservations would address that issue. Aside from that, we enjoy the food here. The prime rib is stellar! Some of the employees are great, while others are showing quite a bit of room for improvement...but good help can be extremely difficult to find right now so I'm willing to overlook that for the time being. If you haven't been, you should go! It's worth the wait. It's on the pricier side but you get your money's worth so you don't have that "ripped off" feeling when you pay the bill. I give the food five tomatoes ? ???? and I would give the service and less than comfortable seating 3 stars. ?
This visit was our first to the new BBQ restaurant. Though there was a sign posted at the entrance warning of insufficient employee coverage, the presence of wait staff and servers seemed to be adequate.We ordered our food at 7:27 PM. The food arrived at our table at 8:30 PM. So, the shortage of workers must be in the kitchen.My dining partner ordered the pulled pork butt plate with Cole slaw and onion rings. I ordered the hamburger ( from "Build your own menu") with fried okra.The portion size for the sides is generous. We both enjoyed the Cole slaw. The onion rings were very good, but the okra was a bit bland and super saturated in grease. The flavor of the hamburger was also bland, but the pepper jack cheese and other dressings helped make it palatable. The Pulled pork was the greatest disappointment. It lacked the smoke flavor that we have sampled at the Food Truck location in Oak Hill. The business was booming, so we concluded that the demand exceeds their ability to keep up with the smoking of the meat. The pork tasted like it had been baked in an oven. As they continue to learn the ropes of a restaurant operation, I wish them success in preparing true Carolina Smoke magic for all customers.

This was our first time here and we will definitely be back. You will wait on seats and food due to shortage of staff but trust me that wait is well worth it. The portions are huge. The food is amazing. Our waitress was on top of things and did a great job. I highly recommend Carolina Smoke.
Food was good. Service was only ok but I understand it's hard to get good help right now. It is a little pricey but the portions make it worth it
