I've been a few times, and it's always a great experience. It's refreshing to have fun fusion spots around town, and this is an amazing place for that. The food is exciting, delicious, and very fairly priced. The owner and staff have always been a pleasure to do business with, and they always want to make your experience the best! If you're looking for a lunch (or dinner) spot that has more to offer than just a burger or hot dog, you should check out Sumo Shack!
This place wasn't unexpected treat!I decided to stop by after going to Starbucks just to see what it was all about as I was looking for a place to grab a bite to eat.And Sumo Shack delivered. The food reminds me of one of those mom and pop diners he would find out in the country on a back road somewhere. The burger taste homemade and so do the jumbo size hot dogs.P.S The portions are large hence the name sumo in sumo shack, so you won't need to order that much if you don't want to.
We had heard about this place and were finally able to visit. I got the Sumo Chicken sandwich and it was good but I thought the wasabi mayo was a little strong. My wife got the OG Smash Burger and she said it was the best burger she had ever eaten. Our daughter had the house salad and added chicken. It was HUGE. The fries are very good as well. The only reason I dont give it an excellent review was the volume of the speakers and it didnt seem to be clean. You could hardly hear your conversation and there were boxes stored near the back and the tables seemed sticky. I will go back for another visit.
I think we may have just found our new favorite restaurant in Lake Norman! We ordered an OG Philly, OG chicken sandwich, a side of Mac n cheese and a side of fries for just a few cents over $30. Wow, everything was delicious. I placed a pick up order and within less than 10 mins it was ready. The fries were by far my favorite. Just the right amount of crispy! Can’t wait to try the wings next time.
First visit. Wife and I wanted to split onion rings ($3 on the menu), so we asked "Are the onion rings big enough to share?" and got back "Um, err, yeh", so we asked "Well, about how big is the basket they come in?" and got back some hand motions that showed a pretty big basket, so we decided to split them. We tipped $3 and the cashier said "thanks for that". NO kidding, we got FIVE onion rings, not the big, heavily battered kind you see at some places, just regular size rings. Burger was fine, dog was fine, nothing that exceptional. On the way out I told the cashier the rings are not really shareable and she said "yeh, sorry about that." Not really the experience we were hoping for. Bad Daddy's is only 3 miles away on the same road. MUCH better value, better tasting, better atmosphere, better all around.
Omg. The Philly cheesesteak egg rolls were incredible! If you go here and don’t order those, I’m judging you lol. Korean BBQ sauce was super good as well. Loved the fries
Take out New York Dog and Onion Rings for lunch. Food quality was very good as usual, onion rings are phenomenal! The New York Dog was very good but I was trying something new and discovered I'm not a big kraut fan. That's on me and not on the shack, it didn't stop me eating it but I will go with another next time! If you have not been give the Sumo Shack a go, you will not be disappointed!
Best cheesesteaks in the world!Love the guys there and the food is awesome.... a great sweet tea too
My son got the Bacon wrapped hot dog. I got the Chicken Philly and my other son got one of the smash burgers. All were really good. The fries were a 10 according to my boys.
Some of the best food we’ve ever eaten, and our new favorite spot in Lake Norman! We tried the chicken bacon ranch Philly, the sumo fries and the bacon mac n cheese and all of them were top notch. If you’re on a diet, this should be your cheat meal choice—it’s worth every calorie, I promise! We will definitely be back SOON!
