I had a hard time choosing between 2 and 3. The pros first, location. Beautiful views, and a great band on the patio good menu, and fresh seafood. The cons, like most places they are understaffed, but you will not only wait a long time to sit but also wait for every item to get to the table. They served a dish that was supposed to have pasta under the fish without the pasta. They brought the pasta out later once finished cooking, it ruined the dish cold dry noodles that could no longer blend in, I really couldn’t believe they didn’t just wait to serve it all together. One person found a hair in their food, that happens, not the end of the world, they took it off the ticket, but with the other issues it weighed in the score. They also charged 1-5 dollars more than the price listed on the menu for almost every item on our ticket. She did correct the additional 5 dollar item, but there was also a 1 dollar surcharge before tax with no explanation. I don’t think restaurants are allowed to accept credit cards and pass the 3% surcharge to the customer but that it’s what they do, it is my understanding that businesses make an agreement with the credit card companies not to do that contractually. Honestly, I feel like most people don’t really look at the bill and they count on that, it’s a poor business practice in my opinion.
Party of 15 on Tuesday at 11 am came in to be sitted for the patio,, 4 boats of guest came early and wanted to be seated. They told us to have a nice day because we didn’t want to sit inside or near the road picnic table. It took 3 people to make the decision not to sit us. The last manager Scott came out and said at 15 people we had to be seated inside. We said we could break up in groups of 4 in 5 tables. He said that would take 4 different servers and we already said we had 15 in the group.. oh well BYE BYE we ate at North Harbor with $500 loss at Eddie’s. What a blessing to be rejectioned at Eddies
On Tuesday morning 15 of my closest friends parked their boats and walked up to Eddie’s on Lake Norman. In that the time was early the place was not at all busy. Reservations are not accepted. The group was told they would be seated outside on the walkway facing the street. The guests then asked if they could be seated on the patio with a view of the lake. They were told NO despite numerous open tables. When the guests asked for seating inside, they were again denied. How about we split into groups of four to sit at individual tables? They asked. You can’t do that they were told because you already said there were 15 of you. HUH? Could it be that an automatic gratuity of 20% will be added to groups of 6 or more? At that point there was no resolution and the staff told the guests to leave! Not very accommodating to say the least! Oh by the way there is also a sign at the front door saying owner parking only and another that says there will be a 3% surcharge for credit cards. Seems to me that a group of 15 is simply not welcome!
Awesome food, great people
Great place to eat. Food is wonderful and wine and drink list are great.
We’ve been to Eddie’s quite a bit being that we live around the lake. And the last four times we have gone the service has been terrible, the food has been not good not hot and spending top dollar and half of the food that’s on the menu as the description is missing on the plate. I had some guy take my drink order and it tasted like bathwater it was supposed to be Eddie’s specialty, I ordered another one once we were sat at our table and it was totally a different drink. Neither of them worthy of the price they were charging. That was our last time we were going to give Eddie’s on the lake a chance. The only thing Eddie’s has going for them anymore is the new deck they built and it’s on the water other than that I don’t recommend it and I’m sad to say that because I like to have good local restaurants to suggest to people.
We just left EDDIES. After hundreds of visits they added a new patio. Now they won’t seat parties more than 6, we were 7. There were plenty of tables open. We offered to sit at two tables. Nothing was acceptable. We saw a table with 7 chairs and asked if we could sit there. The manager slapped menus down on the table and pulled two chairs. Terrible service and behavior for guests who frequent their establishment. We recommend Toucan’s Lakeside. No restrictions there. No laws.
Stopped in on a fluke off of I-77 seen on Google maps. Extremely pleased with the decision. We had a great dining experience across the board with the seating, service, food an atmosphere with a nice view of Lake Norman.?Our waiter and servers were on the ball with refilling our drinks and the quickness of receiving our orders. ?The food was very delicious with nice portions. (See photos below. ) ?The only bad thing is that we don't live anywhere near this place and the chances are we will never get to come back. ?
We have enjoyed this restaurant until today's experience. We ordered the Chicken Eduardo because it advertised a white sauce and my husband's doesn't lime red sauces. This is how the dish came out. Completely red. The manager said the fine print in the menu says they do not refund or change out the order if you do not like the dish even if the wording is not correct on the menu. Buyer beware!
I really want to love this place but there is always something. Either we wait forever, or are over charged, or something is spoiled. The last 3 or 4 visits we say, why did we come back? Just not fun. Sorry. Super disappointed…again.
