My family LOVES this little place!!! We eat here twice a week because it's THAT good! Food is fresh and piping hot. All of the waitstaff is pleasant and quick to serve. Portions are huge whether it's for lunch or dinner and prices are very affordable.As much as I'd like to keep this gem all to myself, it deserves to be shared and enjoyed by all. This is our #1 pick for Mexican food in the area!
Love 1942. The food is some of the best in Sun Valley as well as being the best Mexican food in the area. The staff is phenomenal. They are attentive and professional. Knowledgeable about their dishes and helpful in your selection. Everyone, including the chef and owner will come out to check on you. The atmosphere is pleasant and they make you feel at home. The restaurant is clean and inviting. This is all amazing seeing this is owned by a young owner who is striving to be the best. The wait staff gets your food to you fast and keeps checking on you keeping your chips and drinks filled. Always a pleasure to visit and always a great experience.
So I had seen this restaurant leaving church the other Sunday. I knew I had to try it being that I love Mexican food. I came after church and so glad I did. Everyone was so friendly.The menu had SO MUCH to choose from that I was indecisive. When telling my waiter what I had a taste for, he was able to recommend a dish to me. I had the Fajita Burrito that came with chicken, peppers, tomatoes, onions, and mushrooms. On the side, you received pico de galo, lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole. Of course, you get chips and salsa for the table. The food was so delicious. I most definitely will be back! The establishment is small but intimate and friendly atmosphere. So no worries about having too many people sitting around you during Covid.
When we first came in, were set to a table within 1 minute, very quick. Waitresses very positive and ready to turn a heel and serve us. Shout out to Marlene, you made our visit worth the drive and your smile lit up our table! I ordered the carnitas fajitas, the meat was superb and tender, came apart almost like pulled pork. Couple downsides were a. food charred on the bottom and undercooked on top b. lacked seasoning. Over all great experience I do recommend.
So so so good!! I can’t get over how good this place is! Absolutely the best guacamole I’ve had. Loved the enchiladas & queso too, but mannnn that guacamole was crazy good! Everything was fresh and full of flavor. My husband picked up the order & said everyone there was so nice & polite. We will definitely be coming back soon!!
10 out of 10!! this is definitely a hidden gem! The food tasted really good and the price was really reasonable. Better than a lot of “fancy” Mexican restaurant. My favorite was the chicken tortilla soup. The flavor was very rich. It was a little spicy too and I loved it.
New to the area and was really craving some good Mexican food. 1942 was outstanding. Even after the 15-minute drive it took me to get home with my carryout, every piece of my order was delicious and I can't wait to go back. I've got to believe it's even better if you eat there when it's fresh out of the kitchen.
This is the second time we have eaten from this restaurant and I have had Mexican food from other restaurants but this place hands down has the other places beat! The food is absolutely amazing and the employees are very friendly. It is my wish for this restaurant to be around for a long time!
I can not express how absolutely fantastic this place was! The food was delicious and I still get chills thinking if my first bite. The portions are huge so be careful or prepare to bring some home. The service was SO good and I can't wait to go back. YUMMY!
Every since they opened we have been hooked.It is hard to find a place that has such authentic flavor, but at 1942 you have it.I love good chili rellenos and theirs are delicious. Now I am branching out and trying as many new things as I can. My wife is too. Love everything we try.Definitely our new favorite
