I'll give a four star for the concept because it's definitely unique and not something that's seen a lot in this day. I was a little disappointed by the upkeep only because it is such a unique place I expected it to be taken care of better than what we had saw. The gentleman who took our order was nice. The food was ok. I am definitely rooting for this business because I believe they have something great and the potential to be one of the best out there and it's been there a long time.
Everyone was very welcoming. Place was clean. Only issue was part of my order. I ordered onion rings and instead got fries. No big deal didn't ask for it to be fixed but was really wanting the onion rings. I realize mistakes can be made and this was very minor. Overall the food was great and would recommend you to go and try them out.
Very good location and better food. The Friday special will forever be locked in my mind. I'm excited for the next time I get to come here.
Not the original South 21 that is just outside of downtown Charlotte on Independence Blvd/Hwy 74. This place is good and quick. Sometimes the food can be a bit overcooked and therefore dry, like their burgers or fried chicken, but it's alright as it's few and far between. I enjoy the atmosphere, vintage cars and murals painted all over the walls, classic diner red and chrome seating, I enjoy coming here and having a burger and fries while I sit at the window bar and watch Hwy 74 traffic. ??
Always been one of my favorite places to eat!! The trout plate is my favorite ? Best tartar sauce ever made to go with that fish. Best onion rings around!! Superboy is great! Gotta try the cherry lemon sprite!!! ?
We go at least once a week. Trout plate is awesome. The slaw is the best I have ever had.
Chicken was over-breaded and bland, fries also had no seasoning. Not a fan of the coleslaw either. Chili dog was ok
Everything cooked to order. Best local fast food in Charlotte. I should know. Lived here all my life. Started going to S21 as a kid on the boulevard across from the old coliseum in a gold station wagon.
Delicious food, great atmosphere, friendly staff. We love the trout plates and onion rings! i have been eating at one or another South 21 restaurant for 55 years. Same delicious food quality each time .
Good old-fashioned burger joint with classic menu. One complaint....cashier charged for a drink I didn't order
