We've had several company events at the Matthews location and every time it's been great. Food is always hot and great! They have everything set-up before we arrive and the service is unbeatable. Those events have lead my wife and I to come out and eat with them numerous times, always a good experience. Keep up the great work Matthews store!
I ordered takeout recently of the rack of ribs with a side of sweet potato fries. The ribs were burnt at the end and generally overcooked and not very tender...tasty, but not tender. And the fries were a disaster, just a mushy mess. Will not be going to the restaurant again.
Their service sucks. had 3 waitresses looked me dead in the eye and then turned and walked away. obviously the customer doesn't matter. don't spend your money there, plenty of other places that want your business!
Came with friends to the Matthews location. Our server was excellent and very attentive. We were seated quickly on a Friday night at 7pm. Food has been excellent before but tonight was off. Staffing issues and many menu items being unavailable are understandable in today's restaurant environments. Having to eat with plastic utensils when dining in was mildly shocking. Hard to rate fairly during these times, but the same issues are affecting restaurants everywhere. Not bad, but definitely room for improvements.
A local friend of mine suggested Mac's Speed Shop (I'm from out of town) and I'm glad I followed her recommendation! We arrived shortly after 6 on a Friday as a party of 6. It was about a 15 minute wait to accommodate our party. Our waitress was very friendly and knew the menu (and beers) very well. The service was friendly and excellent.I had a pork sandwich (big pig) with sweet potato fries. It was fresh and very tasty. I added the Western BBQ sauce to it and it was absolutely perfect. I also tried a taste of the Mac and cheese and that was excellent too.The atmosphere is very casual with rock music playing and sports on TV. Great social and casual place. The price of the food was also very reasonable! We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Charlotte,
Very disappointed! I sat a the bar and had a Brisket sandwich, collard greens, and a draft beer. On a scale of 1-10, the service was a 9, collards an 8, beer selection 8.5-9, and the barbecue was a 5.5 at best. The only reason I gave the sandwich a 5.5 was because the bun was pretty good. When I have to add more bbq sauce to make brisket more edible, that is pretty bad. Very, very disappointed!
Macs is great place for BBQ and beer. So many choices. Beef brisket and ribs were fantastic. Cheese Grits were good as well. Great place to hang with friends. Friendly staff and good service too.
We first visited here in the late Spring of 2021 and wanted to come back on bike night to see what kind of crowd was here... didn't get back for that but did discover the "burnt ends" appetizer which is a MUST if you stop in.
Dani was a PHENOMENAL server!! we absolutely love this restaurant and can't wait to come back. HIGHLY recommend the pulled pork nachos ?
Often service can be slow but this week it was extremely slow. Normally the barbecue is quite good. This time we have brisket (good), pork (dry, no taste), chicken (dry, stale, no taste), and ribs (seemed tough and dry as if warmed over for days). Very disappointing. A visit for two people cost us about $50 so that value was poor as well. We will probably not go back.
