Probably the best Chinese food you will find in town. One of my foodie friends raves about this place, so we made a reservation a week ahead and tried it. Upon our friend’s recommendation, we tried the Szechuan Wontons. Actually we inhaled them in seconds - yes, they were that good. I asked the waitress to leave the plate on the table so we could use the Szechuan sauce on our rice. Our entrées consisted of a couple of dishes I grew up on - Honey Roasted Pork Char Siu and Roast Duck. The flavors were outstanding! However, the rice accompaniment was a little of a let down. it was just plain rice with nothing else. They should include some steamed bok choy or other vegetable on the side.Next I ordered the Lobster with Ginger Scallion. It was moist, fresh and very flavorful. Someone else ordered the salt and spice squid. I rated it at a 2 or 3 since I don’t like dry, breaded seafood - but the person liked it. At the end of the meal, we all agreed that the roast duck was the best dish - but everyone was happy with their order. Will definitely return.
This is probably the best Chinese food you're going to get in the Charlotte area. Food was great. Nice touch with the fresh cilantro and scallions on the Szechuan Wontons. The duck was pretty good. The meat was tender and the skin was crispy. Thankfully not dry, delicious. The Beef Chow Fun was cooked perfectly. I've ordered this dish many times at many different restaurants. Believe me. This was far and away much better. We also ordered 2 Claypot dishes, the Chicken and Salted Fish with Eggplant and the Beef Brisket Curry. The eggplant dish was good, but the star of this meal had to be the curry. The meat and vegetables stewed with curry with just a hint of coconut was full of flavors. This place has an interesting and extensive menu. Worth going back to try some of their other dish.
Good Chinese food. Excellent service. Nicely appointed interior.
Staff is very attentive. The menu offers a wide variety with vegetarian and vegan options. The restaurant has a full service bar with great cocktails. Outdoor dining available.
So the food and drinks here are amazing. The service and staff are great as well. This resturant would have gotten 5 stars but one of the people in our party found a staple in thier food - not good.
An hour and 45 minutes for soup, no thanks. Over priced, bad management and lack planning. The person on the phone says…they have lots of take out and reservations…it’s 5:12 pm on a Friday night, hire some more people or the new space you moved into will be your new business locations failing. Ask Mario’s, ask the BBQ place. Poor service no matter the food is the failing of the owner
The food is decent. BUT the services are very bad. Our server was very frugal in giving us rice and a gratuity of 18% was included without notifying us.
It's one of the most authentic Chinese food in Charlotte area. I used to love them. But ever since they move to the new location, the service is super slow including the take out. Sometimes they ask us to wait for 2 hours and every time when we go get our food after 2 hours the food is not done. We try to call them early but it makes no difference. When we dine in, you have to wait forever until somebody come to order your food. Plus they give way less food for the same price. Not the same Lam's kitchen I used to go to.
Oh my gooodnesss!!!!My reviews are usually very measured and contained but this restaurant is quite simply, off the charts. After complaining for months about the lack of authentic cuisine in Charlotte, I was recommended Lam's Kitchen by a friend. We went on a Friday evening without a reservation, so it was a long wait for the food, but when it finally came, it made up for everything and then some.Going back next week!
Went to Lam’s Kitchen for lunch today. It sets new standards of excellence for Chinese food. Had the best hot and sour soup I’ve ever had. It was rich and flavorful, with the perfect balance of sour and spice. The bowl of soup was brimming with a varied choice of mushrooms, tofu, vegetables and meat. The dishes we had from the lunch menu were equally well cooked and fresh in taste. May not have been innovative dishes, but they did them Justice. Shrimp with broccoli and the kung pao chicken met our expectations. Their outdoor patio and prompt service made the outing a real pleasure.
