The service has drastically declined since the epidemic. Staff is scarce, waiting times long, and service if any shortcoming. My 3 star rating is due to food not coming out piping hot. I dont like to send food back to be reheated, but last few times I've been to this ihop location, I've had to do so several times. Also the bill has been inconsistent. Added 2 Turkey links to a kids meal 2 weeks ago and it was a charge of .99 cents. Tonight the charge was $2.39. Menu has also changed....
Got there was told 15 minute wait no big deal but after waiting just over an hour and people getting there after us going in to a table was ridiculous was only me and my wife. Quicker going to a drive-thru somewhere else. They are not organized at all, extremely unfriendly and rude if you ask them a question they have a meltdown. Like most places they care less about customers and negative reviews.
This is the dirtiest IHOP I have been, is always dirty, today the floor was sticky all over, even under the table the floor was so dirty that was slippery, salt and pepper were sticky as well, JUST NASTY!
When we arrived the young lady at the front desk was having a melt down and several people were waiting to be seated. People were being told they would be seated in about 5 minutes which turned out to be more like 45 minutes to an hour or more! Then if you were lucky enough to be seated, you still had to wait on your food a other hour! I've never had an experience like this at any IHOP before, this one evidently has poor management. I gave two stars because the wait staff was really great, I hope they can find better jobs!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WALKING IN HERE! They are unorganized, unclean, and so not care about good customer service.Got there walking in behind two other couples in front of us to be seated. Stood at desk waiting for hostess to greet and take names. Hostess was TERRIBLE! She was slow to acknowledge all parties them says give her a minute to get tables cleaned off and will be 10 min. 10min turned into 20 min before she finally had thought to come write names down for seating. All while others come in, a party of 6.She takes names in order them says give her 15 min and everyone will be seated. Takes her the 15min before she wipes table down then seats the party of 6 before others waiting first. Then finally seats all other groups but only wiping table down as she seats the group. So nothing has been done during the wait time. Several others tables passed in building were filthy. Customers already eating and seated were complaining about service and dirtiness surrounding them. Hostess kept complaining of a hearing problem and was unable to offer wait times for take out orders or seating. Several Uber Eats delivery guys were turned away with no idea of when orders would be ready! JUST CRAZY ENVIRONMENT
Food was luke-warm. Not the first time. Think they let it sit toooooooLoooooong before they get around to bringing it out to the table. Of course they never and never will admit to that and offer no other explanation, but I am -none-the-less- expected to pay full price for that meal, and to leave a generous tip as well for that wonderful ? experience. No, not looking for something for free, not expecting so, as that's about how things go in most restaurants and service businesses in today's world. Tipping? Another joke! Employers charge plenty for their services/offerings to make sure they get theirs while looking to pay their employees a pittance, and expecting the customers to make up the difference in the employees salary so as not to cut into their OUTRAGEOUS PROFITS!!! Bleed the consumer for every dime you can get out of their pockets and into the CORPORATE GREEDY POCKETS!!! Yes, that's how things work in today's world. God Bless and Have A Nice Day.
I-hop 9253 E. Independence Blvd Matthews N.C. I have come to the conclusion that this place either has the worst Management team or they simply despise their customers. We walked into I-hop around 2pm waited at the area where you are usually greeted. 10 minutes goes by and several workers see us standing and waiting, yet we are being ignored. There are several people eating in the restaurant and finally I walk across the restaurant and asked the young lady that was working if we should seat ourselves, because we have been waiting so long. So she tells me that they are closed and asks us to leave. I said to her why is there no closed sign at the front door and why where we ignored for so long yet the staff kept looking at us. She starts arguing with me that they have a sign posted on the front doors. I said there was no signs when we came in and she argued with our entire group at this point. My blood was boiling. So we walked out and with a small hand written sign she taped a closed sign to the door. So we sat in the parking lot for a while and watched customer after customer walk through the doors only to walk back out several minutes later. Nobody was given a reason why they where closed and why was the front door left unlocked, or at the very least post someone at the front door. I promise this establishment will never have the opportunity to have me as a customer ever again. I think this is the first restaurant I have ever given this low of a score. It was pretty bad! I really hope that Corporate steps up, but I doubt it!
Some of The staff in this place are subpar. If you want to work in restaurant you have to know multi task is a big thing . You had one worker typing on computer one worker just casually walking around and when I said excuse me she looked funny and walked away and whispered to the lady typing(who was just asked by I assume management did she need help in which she said no eventho 4 people were waiting at an empty counter) . My thing is my food was literally sitting in cubicle thing ready (saw my name ) and I just wanted to grab it cause I had already paid . This place literally always haves you wait. The one time it could’ve been a quick exchange it wasn’t due to lazy staff smh
Portions are very large. What else good can I say? NOTHING! Staff was rude. Wait time was a little long. Never saw a manager. Prices okay for the portion size.
I recommend always going to any IHOP. But today, the waitress at this IHOP on Independence Blvd in Charlotte was VERY rude and would never deserve a penny tip. She was pulling my menu away before I even completed my order and rushing me to order, subliminally. Why should one subject themselves to such service? Even the way she placed my water on the table was very inappropriate. I do not care how busy they were, I should have never been made to feel uncomfortable. The manager asked me if I wanted another server. I politely declined and told her that the waiter could tell my new waiter to tamper with my food. I let the manager know that such service, even if it was a dog, was very inappropriate. I am now at the IHOP in the University area, being served and treated like a queen.
