Without a doubt the worst Mexican food I've ever had. Everything was so bland and flavorless it was just so disappointing
I have been to this place twice in a month because I will be moving to that area soon. The first visit I ordered the carne asada, the meat was good but it comes with rice and beans (kids meal portion, seriously!) and a tiny amount of guacamole. Is the first “Mexican” restaurant that serves so little! The meat portion was ok. I ordered an extra order of guacamole because I knew I was going to be hungry. Second visit, ordered the lunch special, pork chops, this time, the meat smelled and tasted really bad and I had to ask the waiter to please change my meal. Small portion again so I ordered a separate order of guacamole which is not the best that I have eaten in my life but so be it. The plate was pictured to come with an “egg salad” but surprise! I got a fried egg instead! You could smell the oil like when the food is cooked with the oil, recycles oil, not pleasant. I always post photos but I did not feel excited neither time I was there. The good news is that I will have many other options to visit once I move to Stallings.Carnitas is not one of them. Place is not clean pristine, specially the bathroom, nor the tables or chairs. You can see the booths chairs have never been cleaned, at least the one where we were seated. I don’t know, a lot going on there but definitely do not recommend the place.
Never been to a Mexican place that serves you Pollo con Queso, and says that it is Pollo Fundido. If you’re not going to make it the traditional way that it’s supposed to be, at least put DESCRIPTIONS on your menu. This is very frustrating and disappointing. Will not be returning.
Won't go back. First time a few weeks ago was great. Generous portions and good food. Today the server had the attitude of being bothered to be working. Portions were tiny. $19 fajitas' not even a full skillet. cheese sauce wasn't a full bowl and when we asked the price for a second bowl she told is $3 or so. When we questioned the portions and the quality she became very defensive and didn't offer anything in resolution other then attitude. Don't bother with this location.
This place is as close to a national disaster as I have ever been to in person. I especially enjoyed the cold food and getting charged for refills. If I were the owner I would burn this place and get that insurance money before it's too late. The sweet tea was good.
I have NEVER had such horrible service! The food was slow to come out, which in return, made it cold. They charge for refills....yes, FOR REFILLS!! The girl took our payment and then returned our card in a stack instead of passing them out.One up side to this place is is that their pinto beans were pretty darn good.
The food and service was good, but it was not a family atmosphere for dinner on a Saturday. The floor and some of the tables were dirty. The cost per plate was too high since the portion size was small for dinner. Very weak margaritas.
Was a regular customer for quite some time, I won't be going back. Nice and close to home with a liquor license and decent food . It's a Shame the place could be a gold mine with good service and you didn't feel like you were bothering people when you came in to eat. I've always enjoyed getting take out and having a few drinks at the bar. Lately I go in there and the girls seem and miserable, maybe I did something wrong. If the waitress has headphones on you can expect poor service..place is always dead , obviously they're not making any money. But they shouldn't take it out on a paying customer . I've always spent good money in there and tipped well. It seems like they're arguing with each other on who is going to serve me. I had my dog one afternoon and wanted to sit on the patio and they said that they didn't serve the patio. Even though there are seats and tables, seemed very annoyed she had to take a few extra steps to deliver my food outside, even I said I was willing to pick it up at the bar and bring it to my table myself. I didn't think it was appropriate to bring my dog inside the restaurant. They don't actually have a bartender. The Waitresses serve your drinks but they pour it in the kitchen. Who knows what you're getting, it's a mystery if I'm even getting the same alcohol that I'm asking for or if it is even the amount that I requested, I like to drink doubles. Worked in the restaurant and bar business for years you never pour a customer's drink away from them. Place could use a real bartender and a friendly staff and they would probably attract more clientele. It's a shame, I don't know how the place is still open. I know they have other franchises locally it seems like they're letting this one go, never actually saw the owner or even anybody from a leadership perspective. There's a decent Mexican restaurant in Mint Hill. I'll drive a few extra minutes for solid service and a smile when I walk in the door. Hopefully they'll shut down and put something decent there.
Cold cheese enchiladas and that is not queso on top….. awful.
The star is for the wonderful server. Unfortunately the food was not good. Absolutely tasteless
