The service went above and beyond and the food is great. Such a wonderful staff and such a pleasant environment it was a pleasure trying this place out for the first time. I will definitely look for more locations on my travels! Thank you!
Ordered the regular size bbq platter and the chicken snack along with 2 drinks, well the order was fast maybe about a minute later which surprised me well that meant that the food wasn’t cooked to order and I was right the fries for the snack meal was cold and my bbq was lukewarm so that was a disappointment for me.
1st time visiting and man what an impressive experience we had. The staff was amazing and so friendly. The young lady keep walking about and checking on us to make sure we didn't need anything. Note to management the front end staff that worked 6/20/22 around 8pm should get a increase in pay because those young ladies were so friendly, great job ? More restaurants need people like you.
Truly has a quick drive thru & the food was very good. I love their barbecue/cole slaw sandwich, fried chicken(white) & their pork skins. Their tea is very good as well. My family (4) eat here at least 4 times a month and will continue making this our Barbecue spot.
I swear, its like 8 out of 10 times, i tell yall a BBQ sandwhich NO slaw. And they're like, well youre getting slaw anyway. What's so hard to understand about no slaw? I could see a mistake every once in awhile, but mostly my order is wrong. Never again
This is a great place to get chicken tenders or some descent 'Q while on the road. It's also my new favorite place to grab a bite to go before charging the Tesla in the mall across the street! The staff has stereotypical southern patience and friendliness (I watched a cashier help an older woman taking more than 5+ minutes to decide on an order), the bathrooms are clean, and there's plenty of places to sit in the cavernous dining room. We found the portion sizes large enough to share, and the meat high quality if a little light on the salt. It's definitely designed to go along with one of the sauces for most people's tastes. Definitely stopping here again on the next trip south.
Fast service, delicious food and friendly staff. This place has it all. I love the fried chicken and Brunswick stew. The barbecue sandwiches are amazing also with coleslaw on it. If you haven’t been to Smithfield’s you should definitely give it a try.
NC style BBQ and hush puppies
We stopped here because of raving reviews we read in trip advisor. Giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because the customer service was great and the restaurant was very clean. Nice patio with outdoor seating which was great for our dog! But the food was actually terrible. My crowd is usually pretty easy to please, but we all ended up separately throwing our plates away because it was so terrible. BBQ was mushy and tasted gross. Potato salad was runny, it tasted like honey mustard with some puréed potato. Cole slaw was watery. The French fries and hush puppies were alright. The chicken was breaded entirely too thick and chicken had small pieces of bone in it that had to be picked through.
Absolutely fantastic. Manager hooked up our entire college wrestling team. Sat us and served us with refills and sauces galore. Best experience ever. Saturday the 26th, whoever this manager lady is, she’s an angel.
