We enjoyed our dinner at the San Jose Mexican Restaurant. Service was prompt and courteous. I had the whole Tiliapia fried with salad. My husband had a taco salad. Margaritas were good. This is a hidden gem!
Nice maxican restaurant, good maxican food, reasonable price, friendly staff, plenty of parking, if we are in this area, will go back again.
Good Selection on the MenuWe came in for the first time and enjoyed our dinners. The restaurant is small but nicely decorated and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the service was good. They have a 10% veterans discount here.
Another nice place to enjoy your meal if Mexican meal is your favorite.

Amazing service and friendly staff
I arrived with a group of my family which included about 5 kids. Yes we were noisy as is most tables with 5 kids are and our ordering was a little disorganized I admit. We had 2 drink spills which we cleaned up ourselves. We didn’t mind, our kids did spill it but not one server offered any help. Then came time for the food. My daughter had the steak fries not sure what they are called on menu but the steak was charcoaled. Burned doesn’t even describe how charred the steak was. I ordered the Chori Pollo. Although my daughters food was inedible, she was going to keep it anyway but I insisted she send it back. During the time of sending back her plate, I was trying to get my grandson settled down to eat and the waitress brought the new plate out before I could try my food. After I started to eat, I realized the sausage and chicken were also burned on my plate. Not only did it look burned as I dug through it but it also smelled burned. That unmistakable smell. The waitress never came back after that to check on any of us until she brought the tickets out and ready for us to leave I guess. I told her to please take my plate off my order because I was unable to eat it. She stomped off and threw her head back in frustration and did a quite loud ughhh like it was my fault the food was not edible. If she had been a good waitress, she would have refused to serve burned food to her customers. At that time her manager I assume came to the table and asked did I want something else. Everyone was through dining and ready to leave so no is what I told him. He asked something to the effect of why I didn’t mention it to the waitress sooner and I told him it was because she never came back. He said we will take it off the bill, you won’t have to pay for it like I was going to pay for an entire plate that was uneaten. Well at the register, they rang me up…the manager and the waitress…and at the time I was so infuriated that I didn’t even pay attention to the price they charged me. I was charged $21 and change for 2 drinks and 1 less than $9 plate. You do the math. It is safe to say that I will neverrrrrrr, everrrrrr darken the door way at this establishment again. The San Jose in Pembroke is way better. Clean, nice, and food and service has always been good. I’ve picked up a couple plates that were cold but they were still good ?. I do realize times are hard now and good help is hard to find and harder to keep but this mess right here was uncalled for.

Can't believe the poor service. Restaurant was not full. Ordered guacamole, flautas, fajitas and 2 margaritas. We are not really sure there was any alcohol in the margaritas. Guacamole was supposed to be made at table but it was not. Fajitas were served on a cold skillet but were overcooked. The flautas were supposed to be 2 chicken and 2 beef according to the menu but they were all chicken. Had to ask for silverware and server came back with one set of metal and one plastic "to go"set. Asked for another set of metal utensils and he said they were being washed. Two minutes later the dishwasher brought out a huge basket of clean utensils but we never got any. No one ever came by to ask if we wanted anything else or how our meal was. Our server and several other employees were sitting at a table eating and watching football game while customers were waiting for service. We finally stood up and went to host station to ask for our bill and to pay.
