We wanted to stop for a quick bite on a road trip, but we were tired of fast food. We read the reviews & decided to venture off 95. So glad we did. Adorable eclectic place; friendly staff & owner. Great concept: delicious food and wine bar, and showcases very talented local artists with art & craftwork available for sale. The blue cheese on the burger was outstanding. The shrimp po boy (a special) was one of the best I ever had. Wish we could have stayed longer for dessert but we had an event to go to. We hope to go again on our way back home. Go. You’ll be glad you did!
We had our daughter's graduation celebration here and couldn't be happier with the the way everything turned out. The kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail were more than I was expecting. Not only do you get great service from Phillip and Annette, who are the owners, but the staff were amazing also. The atmosphere is unique and quaint. The hors d'oeuvres, food, drinks, and the decor we had coordinated for the occasion were set up and done beautifully! lovely place to eat and relax
If you blink you miss this little gem of a restaurant. I would have tried them out much sooner if I knew how quaint the inside is and how delicious the food was. I ordered the Blue Cheeseburger as my 1st of many future meals from here. I fully intend to order a Cuban sandwich next time. I would actually recommend this place for dinner rather than lunch so that the atmosphere and food can really be appreciated. Plus, I would love to try some of their wine offerings and work would not appeciate day drinking, lol The burger was of quality ground beef & cooked to perfection. The bacon on top of the burger was also of good quality and thick cut. The only negative I would say was the side of commercially made chips. For the price point of almost $10 for the burger, a simple but freshly made side should be on the plate to enhance the overall effort. I ordered the potato salad separately because I found out that was made in-house & really enjoyed the flavor & texture of the potatoes. Overall, very good impression of Happenings On Elm!
Great hidden gem! We were traveling through and looking for something other than fast food. This place was great! The lasagna and chicken marsala were delicious and the beer and wine selection was impressive. The staff was incredibly friendly and informative. The outside patio was charming. I highly recommend trying this place. Also, the owner ran after us after my wife left a sweater at the table, which was a very appreciated kind gesture.
We stopped in for lunch and libations. The Wee Heavy and the 2016 Cab were just what we hoped they wd be. The Cuban sandwich and Flatbread delicious!
A great place for great food a glass of wine or a beer . Staff and owners are so nice they make you feel like family. Would absolutely recommend them .
Fantastic restaurant! Excellent kitchen, terrific staff, and great wine selection. Local art and ceramics an extra bonus. Owner Annette Wallwork has created a unique venue you must visit!
