Wonderful restaurant that is a little obscure but we’ll worth the trip! If you like Kearney’s hotdogs go across the street for a full meal. People are wonderful, warm and accommodating.

If you're looking for real soul food like your mama or grandma used to make, this is the spot! The owners and staff are SO personable; you instantly feel like family. I've had the meatloaf and pork chops, both were cooked to perfection, and all the sides are delicious and don't need any extra seasoning or alterations! Best part? They have "red" and "purple" Kool-aid as a beverage! Everything hits the spot!!
The outside of the restaurant made me a tad uneasy as a first impression, but man was I WRONG. We felt so welcomed and the food was beyond amazing. I can confidently say it was the best soul food I’ve ever had, and I’ve had ALOT. The pinto beans were crazy good, the Mac and cheese was PERFECT and the fried chicken was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Everything was filled with flavor and it was everything but basic. Do yourself a favor and just go.
My parents have been eating here regularly. My dad loves the Fried Chicken and green beans. They were discussing the catfish plate one. I decided to join them on Friday night. I love catfish in general. But, this was the best fried catfish I have had in YEARS. The flavor is amazing and more than generous portion sizes. I cannot recommend this place enough. The staff is friendly and welcoming. They make you feel like a member of the family as well as a patron. This is definitely the hidden gem of Lexington, NC.
Absolutely loveee this place! The staff an owners are amazing! The food is unbelievably good! And the portions are huge!!!! JJs is by far our new favorite spot to eat! If you want home cooked food that’s gonna touch ur soul then you’ve gotta check them out!!!! All this was from one plate!!!!!! My husband and I ended up sharing there was so much, ohhh and their desserts are AMAZING!!!!
Food is consistently BOMB!!!! This was my second visit and I have zero issue driving from Greensboro to eat here. NONE! The collard greens are BETTER than advertised. Baked chicken is great. Fried chicken is great -- perfectly seasoned. I love this place!
