I've been eating Char's for over 20yrs and it's still my favorite "Lunch-Spot" to this day! (Our Office use to be across from Sam's Carwash way-back-when... It was a small building with a back deck, Jerry Hunt's Auto Sales was on the corner, and The Davidson County Funeral Home was to the rear.)I remember "playing hookie" just to be able to work with my Father, eat at Char's, and the only thing that could cure my 'sickness' was an Orange-Freeze Milkshake! ?Char's IS and ALWAYS will be a landmark in this town. It's hard to have a thriving restaurant here that's not the Historical BBQ joints that have been here forever... Yet, everyday (but Sunday) the parking lot is full, and the lines are backed-up around the block! In addition of the phrase, "IN GOD WE TRUST!" proudly remaining on the sign... ???❤️?With that being said, the last hour before Closing gets wreckless in the kitchen... From orders being incorrect to them being carelessly tossed in a bag.

Prices are great, footlong hotdogs and fries are amazing. The ice cream is seriously the best I have ever had.

Food is really good for a mom and pop restaurant. Staff didn't seem as friendly this time but they were just getting hit with the lunch rush. I had to go back up because they forgot my hush puppies but they do have some of the best hush puppies around

Decent meal. Fair pricing. Friendly atmosphere.

Terrible terrible terrible…today was my first time visiting and this girl at the register just stared at me and my fiancee …I told her we’ve never been here and she just looked and asked us again what we wanted…until the point I felt uncomfortable and was practically forced to order just something…our food came to $13.02 which isn’t a lot but the food wasn’t worth it at all. My fish patty was completely burned and was refried clearly the sandwich was extremely small and oily. One of my fries had hair fried on to it …I had to rip it off to get it off the fry (of course I didn’t eat it) it’s a bunch of teenagers that appear to be working in that place. Will definitely never come back.

Standard diner style restaurant, but jas great value for money. The burgers are large, the fries are great and there is a good selection of deserts.

This is a great local spot and very affordable. Everyone is always so nice when I go; drive-thru or walk-in. The double cheeseburger special is my favorite thing to order when I'm hungry and the soft serve vanilla or vanilla/chocolate mix cone is ideal for a sweet tooth.

This is a classic Hamburger/Hotdog restaurant. They also have a wide selection of frozen desserts. This is one of the most affordable restaurants in town and the portions are large. I got a chicken quesadilla and ended up taking some home for leftovers as it was so large. If you want something quick and easy, this is the place for you!

It was busy so apparently the locals love it. I was not a fan. The hot dog bun was toasted which was nice but I could barely taste the chili, onions were strong!!, and the hot dog itself was mushy. I personally will probably not come back although as stated, seems to be a hopping little joint.

Am a fan of foot long hot dogs, the best in Lexington great shakes also the drive thru a bit cramped but still recommend
