We’ve been going here for many years. Always liked a particular pizza. They were out of the crust for this pizza today so we had to pick a different style. We also choose side salads. They were also out of one of the toppings we like. Pizza was horrible, limp and just disgusting. Flies were flying everywhere all over our food. I guess the flies like the food more than us! Salads were bad also brown lettuce and they went downhill from the way the salads used to be. The pizza was $29 I left very disappointed and we will never be back!
We like Old Chicago a lot. There was an issue with our food last visit and the manager was horrible. She was like, oh well. Not great when 1/3 of the one dish was inedible. The person waiting on us went to her twice to try and get the bill reduced, but she refused. Besides that, we enjoy eating there. Staff is usually very good. It is usually pretty cold in there. Closer to the bar at the wall is the best place temperature-wise.
The food was good when we got it. We ordered 3 orders of pepperoni rolls and waited over an hour for them. I would’ve understood if it was busy but me and my friends were the only ones in there. We also ordered a salad which came after the pepperoni rolls. Can’t say much for our server she was more interested in talking to her friends than taking care of us. Had to ask repeatedly for refills and then finally had to ask a manager to get us some. We were going to order dessert but decided to go to Freddy’s because by the time we would’ve got it we would’ve aged 5 years. We asked for the check but had to pay with cash because we waited 20 minutes and the server never came back to get our card. Would never go in to sit again maybe to go because the food was decent when we eventually got it. Service 0 stars.
Went in around 230 pm, not terribly busy. More empty seats than patrons in the dining area. Was told it was going to be a 25 minute wait due to the kitchen being backed up. Trying to be totally reasonable, I asked if we could just go ahead and sit, maybe order drinks and figured the food would get there when it gets there. Instead, told no we can just wait in the waiting area. How does this make any sense? Many open tables, but we have to wait 25 min to get one because the kitchen is slow? Makes absolutely zero sense. Will never patronize this place again.
If a ZERO was possible - this place would be it!!Started with a waitress that was really NOT good at follow up.We waited for 20 minutes to place our order, and not because we weren't ready!!My husband ordered an NA beer. As a recovering alcoholic this is his ONLY option. He was very clear what he wanted & the waitress told him what his options are. When she finally brought our drinks, she set them all down in front of one adult & a 6 year old. Imagine, a 6 year old with 3 tall draft beers & a bottle directly in front of him, and to top it off - the waitress brought a real Heineken for my husband. The food was mediocre AT BEST.We ordered 2 pizzas, & 2 kids meals. Our pizzas were NOT hot, even borderline warm. But, the kids mac-n-cheese for a 2 yr old was STEAMING hot! None of it had very much flavor. When we received the bill the Heineken we were charged for it. The waitress responded "oh, I thought she took it off".Between, POOR service, bland food & cold pizza we won't ever be back. Now to find a real pizza place in town!
After walking out of 3 restaurants on an early Sunday afternoon after it was obvious the service wasn’t staffed appropriately for their patrons, I was so happy to walk into Old Chicago for the first time. It’s a pizza place but they had a burger on the menu and I really wanted a burger…and a Guinness. I found both. The burger was perfectly cooked as ordered and very tasty. I am not a waffle fry person but they were good as waffle fries go. Service was a breath of fresh air after the 30 minutes of frustration previously. As it is close to my home I will be returning. Highly recommended
Came on a a Sunday night and was not very busy was seated very quickly. Ordered an app of the cheese bread and it was good not enough cheese. Got a large pizza for the main meal and for starters it’s not a large whatsoever. Pizza itself was very delicious but very small for the price. Overall I think they are over priced and the staff was mediocre at best. Waitress took our order and brought our food and never saw her again and she had very little personality. Food is good but prices and staff not the best in my opinion
Must be a weird off day considering it's super bowl Sunday and the place was only at maybe 30% capacity. Waited 15 minutes and no server, I had to go get one. Waited another 15 minutes just for waters and none showed. Then we heard the server talk to the table behind us about their appetizer they cancelled because it had been 40 mins. We took it as a cue to walk out.
I love eating here! The food is great and the service is even better.
It took an hour and 10 minutes to get my to go order from the time I ordered it at the bar. Food is always good and I have always been a fan/supporter of this franchise for more than 20 years dating back to when I lived in Colorado. This specific location’s service has definitely been on the decline since it opened a few years ago. I won’t be going out of my way when I’m in Jacksonville anymore since the price and timeliness has gotten so much worse. Employees were friendly but appeared stretched too thin, and there appeared to be a disconnect between the bartenders/servers and the kitchen staff.
