I'm picky, this place needs cleaning, bathroom was filthy, mold on ceiling, flour sticky, food was good but not hot enough, shrimp was fresh, waitress was excellent. No free hush puppies while waiting prices reasonable, shocked no baked potatoes.I won't go back.
My wife and I showed up at 8pm they close at 9 so yes we were cutting it close, we told the hostess that we were waiting on 2 others to show up which was only about a minute she told us it would only be about a 15 minute wait instead of turning us away we said okay cool, “so we thought”, at about 845 our friend who is about 7.5 months pregnant went inside to ask how much longer it would be. The hostess advised our friend that now we have two more groups in front of us even though we were the last group outside and no one had came in after us. We didn’t understand and decided to just order pizza even though I was craving seafood! So disappointed as I had heard great things about this place but had never been before! Will never be going back which is easy because I live about 6 hours away in maryland!
For starters the place was so cozy. The atmosphere was a great place to be in & the people working there were nice. The food is okay. Like that’s it. My huge complaints are the drinks and hygiene!The drinks here taste like dirty water. Straight up. Including the bar drinks. The after taste of all the drinks I tried made me never want to come back.I really wanted to like this place. But I can’t get past the unhygienic conditions.Also please make sure the bartenders & servers are using scoops to scoop out ice because that was the nastiest thing I’ve seen in a minute.
The only waterfront restaurant to be found in Jacksonville, NC serves mostly seafood, but also steaks, burgers, chicken, and a few Italian dishes. Indoor and outdoor dining is available. Large bar with counter top seating also available. I come for the steamed oysters, and the fried flounder. Also nice is the option of sautéed squash & mushrooms, if you don’t want French fries as a side dish. Dog-friendly outdoor dining, too. Just leave the Parrot Jack alone!

Bartender was excellent. We were told a 45 minute wait which we were ok with but that turned in to well over an hour. Lots of empty tables but apparently no help. We ordered an appetizer while waiting at the bar and it took 45 minutes just for that. Which was ridiculous! Finally got seated at a table and ordered dinner at 7pm.. even though we were there before 5 pm. So over 2 hours to be seated. Ordered dinner, we were told they were out of potatoes, bar was out Yuengling, they were out of ranch dressing. Got our salad but never given utensils. Had to flag down a server to get those.Dinner was decent. Food was good overall.Don’t think I would come back here.
Just the atmosphere you would expect in a marina Cafe complete with outdoor stage and bar. Games, parrots and lots of good drinks.
