I have eaten many times at the same restaurant in Davidson, always truly enjoyed. The “breakfast” I was served today (I’m still here) was the worst I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant. Everything undercooked and flavorless. Even the bacon was basically inedible. My order was brought to me in literally less than 2 minutes. It was gross. The waitress replaced my bacon, English muffin, and potatoes but I still couldn’t eat them. I’d be embarrassed if I were the Manager or any of the cooks. Will never come back.
I love the food here, that’s why I keep coming back. BUT, Toast has a major flaw. The “every server is your server” approach really means that no server is your server. I’m not basing my review based off of one bad experience. I dine here almost weekly, even prior to and all throughout Covid, and my experience has been consistently poor. I assume tips are shared, and this gives servers zero motivation to go above and beyond. It results in servers that do the bare minimum. And often this means that we end up having to hunt someone down if we need anything at all. Secondary to this customer service issue is quality control. We experience some type of issue almost every visit we have. If I order lunch to go, 9 times out of 10 the order is missing something that should be there. While dining in, the last two times our check was incorrect, and our most recent visit my husband’s oatmeal was cold. Minor issues in our opinion and if it was easy to have these issues remedied with a dedicated server, they probably wouldn’t annoy us much. However, that brings us back to the “no server is your server” issue. It’s a shame, because the food is so so good.
Great, and super friendly service!!! Rich, was our server today for mother and myself. He was a total star, very personable, chatted with us for a few minutes while we made our order (which he helped me choose between some great breakfast choices!) And checked on us regularly. Wonderful time with this location today! Thank y'all very much!
I was kinda disappointed with my food, I ordered the “stuffed” French toast and it wasn’t the kind I was expecting, it was basically toast and they put some jelly in between. It was very underwhelming. The service was kinda disappointing too since our server didn’t even bother checking back on our table. The cocktail and bacon were good enough. Overall I’m unsatisfied with the service.
My rating is not for the food quality, because I love the food here but unfortunately it is based on cleansliness. The first table we sat down at had long hair by the salt and pepper shakers so we made the waiter aware of it and he then moved us tables assuming it was to clean it, so a few minutes goes by and the table still had not been cleaned but ready for a customer so my husband tells both the waiter helping us and another waitress that someone should clean it, they then did clean it BUT after being encouraged to do so.smh And then as the waiter is waiting for his machine to load to start taking our order he starts rubbing and scratching his face and then wipes the sides of his mouth, and as that may seem like not a big deal to some people, I find that to be so gross and unsanitary and I am not a rude person so I couldn't tell him anything, so we still placed our orders and figured if he was the one to bring our food out then we wouldn't eat it, we would pay and leave but LUCKILY he didn't because I was starving! And then as if that wasn't enough, a young woman came over to clean the table next to ours and I am not sure if cleaning the tables comes with special training or should be common sense but either way this young woman literally sprayed the table along with the salt and pepper shakers and other condements used for food that sit in the center of the table with cleaning solution. Now I do understand things happen, dirty tables, dirty silverware, etc. but that all completely changes for me when the staff/employees are the careless dirty ones. My family and I most definitely will not be going back to this location.
Horrible customer service and a bunch of thieves! We order 4 two egg breakfast with potatoes/ crunchy bacon/ english muffin and when we got home we weren't given the bacon. We called to have the supervisor yell that she couldn't get to the order at that time but to speak to the front person. She put us through and we waited on the phone for over 10 minutes and they wouldn't answer! They got paid and now don't want to refund items that we never received! HORRIBLE PLACE~ HORRIBLE SERVICE!
This was my first EVER visit to a famous toastery. I visited this Famous Toastery location on Saturday Feb 19 and I was not at all pleased with the service my girlfriend and I received. To start, when my girlfriend and I were sat several servers walked past us several times and no one greeted us for several minutes. I had to flag a gentleman down and ask him who our server was. He stated that he'd be right back. He took my drink order (my gf had gone to the restroom by then) and brought over 2 waters and the glasses were dirty. He walked away so quickly I was unable to bring it to his attention. Then we sat for a several more minutes again being ignored. Then a lady walked past and asked if someone had taken our order. We told her they had not and she said ill be right back. I brought the dirty glasses to her attention, she replaced them and we attempted to place our order. It was obvious she did not know how to work the machine she had in her hand to place the order. We were patient with her. Once she finally had our order in we waited for the food.....and waited......and waited and waited and then it's an hour later and our food wasn't out yet. We observed that guests who had come in after us were already eating and some had eaten and left already. I flagged down the manager to ask him what was taking our food so long. He said he'd go check and come right back. HE DID NOT EVER COME BACK OVER. The female server came back and asked what I said to the manager. I told her I was just asking for our food. We'd ordered breakfast. French toast, bacon and eggs. It shouldn't have taken an hour to prepare. She then admitted that the ticket was not sent to the kitchen and so she then asked us to place our order again this time she hand wrote it on a guest check ticket. When the food finally arrived I was not pleased. I asked for blueberry stuffed French toast. It was literally blueberry jam placed between a slice of bread and folded into a triangle and placed on a griddle to warm my bread. I asked for my bacon crispy. There was literally no dark marks on my bacon. I was appalled that the MANAGER, who I flagged down earlier never came back over to check on us or offer any kind of apology for his server's error. I won't ever be returning to this establishment.
Amazing service. Clean, just beautiful environment all together. The food is to die for. A must try if you have never been. I will definitely be returning with my family
Food was good.. I ordered a West blt due to the ingredients sounding amazing but was given a plain blt which upset me but I ate it without fuss. The service was a bit slow as well. Probably just the one visit will do for me
Food was good but they have a Mask Are Required Sign on both door but they don't enforce it. People were just coming and going with no mask.
