My daughter visited this location after visiting me (her mom) in the hospital. She arrived near closing time and asked if it was too late to order. She was a waitress in college and NYC and was not fond of peoplethat came near closing. The manager Cedric told her that she was fine to order. He then asked her how her day was and she shared with him that I was in hospital and she had a sick toddler at home in Durham. Long story short he prayed with her and comforted her when she cried. He did something else that was unbelievable but I won't go into that. He and his staff made her day. After discharge from hospital we went there for dinner. The food was So good. Best baked beans and fried okra ever. City Barbecue will be my go to place from now on. Shared this story with my friends ❤
The Nashville hot sandwich is delicious, great flavors, and the corn pudding is the best… The brisket is so good can’t go wrong with this place. Along with excellent customer service! Way to go guys! I will definitely be back!

Ordered a Family Pack for Curbside. While waiting in the parking lot, “Bake” came out to let me know that my order was going to be ready in 5 minutes. He then proceeded to offer me a drink while I waited. Not going to lie, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve received this level of customer service. Someone give this Man a raise.
First and absolute last time coming here!!!! Not only was I met w/an attitude when asked about my toppings of my sandwich. He says, we don’t put toppings on the sandwich to go. Okay cool! However, they weren’t in the bag either. When I actually looked at my sandwich, I was appalled! See below what’s advertised on their site vs what you actually get! Man, i gave that little bitty sandwich to my 5yr old! Chick-fil-a has thicker sandwiches then these kiddie meal sandwiches. I’ll pass!
The cornbread muffins are the most moist cornbread I've ever tasted.Got the sampler, it had a great smoke flavor, it came with pulled pork, brisket, and ribs and some sides.They were a little stingy on the brisket portion, and the ribs could have been more tender. But overall still a delicious meal.
Barbeque places are very hit-or-miss, in my experience. City Barbeque is a definite HIT! Everything was so good and the staff was friendly. I didn't have to put salt on anything, and the meats were delicious even without any sauce. Lastly, their potato salad comes in 2nd only to my late Grandma's, and that's impressive. This place was absolutely amazing! Hands down my favorite BBQ sandwich I've had in over 5 years. The meat was smoked to perfection and the slaw was subtle and sweet. The sweet tea was straight up the strongest I've had in years as well.The waitstaff was wonderful and super sweet, I loved how they all knew so much and respected different opinions on regional BBQs and they really were awesome to talk to. The experience was stellar and I will be coming back again!!! 10 out of 10!
Authentic barbecue absolutely delicious yummy. Picked family meal $24.99 upgraded to brisket for add. $7.50 pint fresh Cole slaw, collared green with correct tang cooked to perfection, hand cut ? fries, corn bread pudding was so good could have used little more corn but went well with corn ? bread. many sauces to choose and the sweet sauce can't be any better as well as the vinegar perfect if your tang vinegar fan. Staff were excellent in helping me with samples and deciding my order and kitchen staff top notch out in minutes. Take out was hot at home. Overall Highly recommended A+++
I'm from Boston, here visiting my mom, we went on a recommendation from a friend. Unbelievable food and atmosphere!!!Definitely going back next time I'm in town!!!!
