This location is obviously having bad staffing problems. Had two tables with people at it and when arrived was told would be a 25 minute wait before you get a table. We declined... Food for thought because you only have that kind of delay if you don't have kitchen staff or people that can cook which leads to all kinds of problems food for thought for anyone getting carried out from this location as well. The lady was polite who greeted us so I put it at three stars.
It’s Friday but a day off so time for errands and I need options for my project besides Lowes, that is the only home improvement store in my village, so off to nearby Cornelius and HD.While out, I get a text from Chili’s - Free chips and quac - with an entrée. Why not? It’s lunchtime and it’s been forever since I’ve been.Sat at the bar, served promptly. Craft beer aficionados take note: Only two craft beers on tap. The rest are your usual domestic suspects.Lovely Wife ordered chicken fajitas; I, the Chicken Ranchero Tacos (3). A couple small TVs to pass the time while drinking my IPA and talking with Lovely Wife. The chips are good tasting but thin and break easily. A shame because the guacamole is a nice stout mixture. We use forks to spoon the good stuff rather than struggle with breaking the chips. You know how when you buy a bag of chips, that towards the end, all you get are small thumbnail size pieces? That’s what we got after scooping out the larger pieces. C’mon Chili’s, you can do better. You also get salsa, sort of on the mild side.Lunch is served. Lovely Wife’s chicken fajitas are really sizzling. I mean really sizzling. Really huge portion. I mean really huge.My tacos are OK but the whole affair, Taco, Beans, Mexican Rice- are just a degree above “warm”. The tacos are tasty but I need some hot sauce. I use salsa which is still too mild but better than none at all.Verdict on the Chicken Fajitas: Outstanding. An excellent value for the $17-something asking price, especially considering the portion. Leftovers anyone?Verdict on the $12 Chicken Rancheros: Just ok. The tacos themselves were fine but could be served hotter. OK, not sizzling but hot. Same for the beans, also ok but probably tasted better if hot. The Mexican Rice? Meh. I’ve had better from Rice a Roni. They were undercooked, not even Al Dente, and also the same luke-warm temp. I probably should have sent my meal back for a do-over but I suspect doing so would have landed the entire plate in the micro.Would I go back? I’m not so sure. We’re this restaurant located in my little village of Denver , North Carolina, probably, since we have so few dining options here. But in a place like Huntersville, there’s too much competition to give it another chance. But if you’re in the mood for fajitas, by all means, take a chance.
My wife and I were very disappointed on our last visit and probably our last. I recently had some serious surgery so we decided to eat at your restaurant early in order to miss the crowd. When we arrived they seated us in the bar area, we asked if it was possible to sit away from that area and was told it was not open. Evidently they had not cleaned up from the lunch crowd because they took our drink order (iced tea) and took me in several minutes to arrive at that time us and one couple sitting at the bar were the only ones in the restaurant.. The server gave us our menu and then proceeded to sweep the floor we watched and waited and after several minutes when she was finished she took her broom and dust pan to the back and came to finally take our order she did not have time to wash her hands after ordering we had to ask for drink refills. After a quite lengthy time finally our food was delivered but not by ou server. When we finished eating I literally had to get up and find someone to ask for our check. By the way I believe in being a good tipper and usually do a minimum not this time we are the ones that left a $2 tip (tips - to insure proper service)
Robin,Thank you for running such a great restaurant! Shanna our bartender was absolutely amazing and we would always return to embrace her hospitality! Thank you
i’m never one to post a review let alone a bad one. the service here is literally atrocious …. i’m a waitress my self so i completely understand being short staffed but they are not only rude but extremely inattentive.. we saw our waiter probably twice the whole time we were there, literally all our orders came out wrong. it was just a bad experience and i highly don’t recommend anyone eating here. food isn’t fresh either
Waited forever for someone who could read a simple seating chart to find us a table in an uncrowded restaurant. I ordered the smokehouse combo with ribs and chicken crispers. Ribs were great. When I bite into chicken it squirts old tasting grease in my mouth. I lost my appetite. Then my daughter finds a blonde hair in burger her hair is Ginger. Won't be going back.
I wish I could give 0 stars. Its the 2nd chili's we went to put our name on the list waited 20-30 mins for a table and they gave it to someone else. I personally will not be going back.
My new favorite place to enjoy delicious food with my family. Friendly atmosphere. Good customer service. Attentive and polite staff/waiters. I truly enjoy my time when dining there.
Curbside To Go has been a super easy experience here. Our orders have always been correct and ready on time. Food has been great with friendly staff always being quick to bring the order out to your car once it's ready.
I had ribeye steak. Very tender and was cooked perfectly. Southeastern eggrolls were not greasy. Salads were fresh. Service was attentive.
