Very one was so nice, great service
We stopped by for a quick beer after playing golf at 12 Oaks. It was a very loud and hopping place with a good beer selection. It took longer that expected to get served from the bar but we eventually tried several beers. Their in-house brews didn't seem to have much taste. But they did offer other beers and we finally settled for a hoppy IPA and a chocolate stout - which hit the spot. We didn't try any of their food but everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals and the menu did have a very good selection of foods so we'll need to come back next time we are Holly Springs to try it out. Everyone there was very friendly.
From the mason jar glasses, the photo decor and the mason jar lamps - it’s a whole vibe and it’s really cute! Our drinks were hand crafted & it’s one of the best mules I have tried. I got the Moonshine Mule, peach flavored. My friend got the bloody & got no shrimp. He offered to put bacon on it for her. Needless to say - she enjoyed hers also!Food was excellent. Turkey melt with edamame succotash & fried green tomato with bacon Brussel sprouts pictured. There was plenty of diff types of protein to choose from and vegan menu options!Stop by and try the Mason Jar Tavern - where your jar is always full! ?
We found this spot during a recent visit to the Raleigh area. Good menu, generous portions, and good service. My wife and I enjoyed a Vienna style lager and a Helles. Both were excellent and brewed by the related brewery in nearby Fuquay-Varina. This is a great neighborhood spot for good food and drink. The photo is my order of pulled pork tacos.
Got seated at our table and waited 20 minutes. No one came to take our drink or food order. No one even acknowledged we were there. It seems they were busy but I have been to other restaurants that were busy but at least they made an effort. Food might be good but we will never know. Clearly this place is not managed well.
We had a good lunch at The Mason Jar Tavern. I had heard good things about their food, and I have to agree it was good, but not great. Each meal was a good size for their prices, the place was lively, and service was good. I think you can sense a theme here already; good but not great. We went to the restaurant for my birthday! Had a nice table visit from the manager Meredith who was checking that every table was doing well. Kudos!Ordered the Sourdough Club (the meat was under seasoned and it all needed more mayo). Husband got the Pimento Chicken Sandwich (super spicy, but not necessarily flavorful). The kids got chicken & waffles, and the mini hot dogs (both seemed decent but the chicken was really dry). My dad ordered the Nashville Hot (he seemed to like it). We also all shared the Flight dessert, which had all four mini desserts; Cookie in a Jar, Creme Brulee, Chess Pie, and S'mores in a Jar. I think the desserts were all good ideas, but we're executed poorly. The cookie and pie were fresh (yum!) but so hot that the ice cream and mousse melted very quickly. There were also 3 hot & chocolate desserts to one cool, and I would love to see the s'mores one become a strawberry cheesecake or maybe raspberry. Something fruity and cool.Overall, The Mason Jar is good. The main meals could use more seasoning, and the desserts could be reworked. But it's a good place to go!
Food and service was great! Only complaint was the shrimp and grits were incredibly oily. There was a layer of oil around the edge of my plate. The dish tasted great so I didn’t complain. Reheating my leftovers resulted in spoonfuls of oil having to be scooped off. It happens! They were great with my 1 year old and have yummy kids options.
$22 for 4 scallops is not a dinner. That is what I had last night. It was tasty but more of an appetizer than a dinner. I won’t order that again. Service was good. My wife had the tilapia with risotto. It’s her favorite dish and is a full dinner at $19
Super friendly and great food, that's all you need ?Blackened MahiChicken and wafflesHangover burger
Holly Springs location is much better than Fuquay. The food just seems fresher and the presentation nicer. The luch service was a bit slow on the day we were there but we were not in a rush so still enjoyed ourselves.
