We arrived and were not even acknowledged…that was the first problem. Once we got seated we ordered a salad and pizza. We waited awhile for both items ( at least 45 mins). The caesar salad was good, however had lots of garlic. If you like garlic it’s a great salad. Now the pizza was the biggest issue…soggy, wet, uncooked and doughy. We sent it back after one bite. The server gave us a discount for the issue, we were very thankful for that. All in all, don’t come here if you want soggy pizza. I read the reviews before arrival but I am one of those people who still give it the benefit of the doubt and try it.
Found this place on Google looking for Chicago Deep Dish and upon visiting them I am hooked. This place the staff are all amazing friendly and professional, like being served by a best friend atmosphere. Thank you all for my first experience and lasting experiences especially with your Chicken Caesar salad…………..OMGoodness, mouth watering now for one. Great job ACME keep up the good works.
Absolutely incredible deep dish pizza... so delicious... and the garlic knots were amazing. A definite repeat visit must be made.
We enjoyed the deep dish and pleasantly surprised the crust was not greasy or heavy at all. I have had the famous Chicago pizza " In Chicago" and thought Gino's East of Chicago was good but greasy. Acme reminded me more of Giordano's ( another Chicago favorite." We had been looking for a reason to drive up from Fayetteville to try it and came over after the RV show. It was worth it!
While a deep dish pizza is an event of itself, and not a casual pizza, we still enjoyed it tremendously. We will still look for a quality pan crust pizza with flavor popping.toppings, but we'll happily head here otherwise. But the garlic knots are probably the single best thing we've had in the triangle area so far.
After tasting their pizza and their garlic knots, I went into my lunch experience expecting something exceptional. They have great pizza and garlic knots. Today we had a Philly cheesesteak sub and a meatball sub. My son said the meatball sub was just okay. I asked why he thought that, and he said the meatballs "didn't really taste great". I would have to say that my Philly cheesesteak was just okay also. Maybe even a little disappointing. I would have expected for the price we paid to have triple the meat that they put into it and if they were going to put less quantity, to have better quality meat. Was it a hot lunch? Yes. Could Arby's have done just as good? Yes. Stick with their pizza and garlic knots.
Our son’s soccer team came for lunch between games. The staff got us in and out quickly and in an organized manner. Food was great! Service was amazing! Kids were happy. Parents were happy.
Never really have had deep dish pizza. Pizza was truly filling and interesting. Was good but not my thing. Will return to try a regular pizza, as the table next to us looked really good. Took a while to get our food, it was not busy. Chalking it up to the cook time for deep dish. Also ordered the Mac and cheese, huge portion but had no flavor. Once we doctored it up at home was good.
It’s bad enough that the cheese on top is barely melted and never even closed to browned, but their customer service and delivery is terrible. We tip every time and tipped more heavily than normal. Here’s the pizza we got. Better pizza from J&S and or NY pizza but this place is closer.
Love the Chicago pizza. It was delicious.
