My order was wrong -egg wasn't scrambled, refused to remake or refund the sandwich. Had to throw it away & go to another bagel place to get food.
These are truly the best bagels I have had here. the cinnamon crunch is my absolute favorite and all of the cream cheeses are delicious. my husband LOVES the lox bagel and all 3 of my kids love all of the flavors they've tried. In fact, they ask for bagels multiple times a week.
I ventured to High Point Bagels and was so happy with my experience there. I am from central NY, and have not had a comparable bagel since moving to NC. These bagels are SO good, and the service was excellent. I’d highly recommend!
As New Yorkers, we know bagels. And High Point Bagels is the best south of the five boroughs. Light and airy, well baked, they must import the water from New York. Truly a taste of home here in North Carolina.
Great variety of bagels like egg, pumpernickel, and cinnamon crunch. It reminds me of bagels I ate, growing up in Long Island NY. People there are friendly and helful. They give all their left over bagels to homeless shelters. They are always looking for help. Very clean store with delicious side dishes and fresh coffee. Sit down tables and chairs.
Food is amazing. Customer service is horrible. I walked in around rush hour and gave my order. Upon taking my order, staff was talking to others and not paying attention. After about 30 minutes to return for my order they stated they never received it and they were also out of what I initially ordered. I hate that because I really do or shall I say did love this establishment. Attention to detail/ customers would go a long way other than making customers feel like they wasted their time.
Why am I just now eating here?!? I had lunch on a Wednesday, Sunday breakfast with the family, and brunch again that Monday. That was in 1 week! So needless to say, we loved it. The bagels are so soft and fresh they melt in your mouth. Their strawberry cream cheese on the cranberry muffin is a must!! Be careful this place gets busy fast. There were 2 people ahead of us then after we ordered all of a sudden there were 25 people here. Well worth it!
New York style bagels. Always clean and professional. It's one of the old gems that is new. I visit this place every time I am in High Point NC. If I lived there I would probably visit 2-3 times a week. They are only open until 2pm 7 days a week.
Love this place. The people who own this place are from NY or NJ and know what they are doing. It's an old school place, it's the only place I know of that makes the bagels on-site. Those other places like Pan... Which are delivered.
The owner doesn't know what he is doing. He is from NYC, so you would think he would know how to make a good bagel. Perhaps he is down here in NC having been ostracized by his peers in NYC for making crappy product. Tarred and feathered, he escaped. Only to set up shop here in NC because he presumed North Carolinians don't know a good NYC bagel. The bagels are often over prove (allowed to rise for too long) and burned. Solution is simple! The owner needs to step up and be more hands-on. Scale back on all the kids working behind the counter and cut back on the elaborate & contrived menu options. Bagels should not be puffed up to 2 inches or more and should not have the appearance that someone took a bit out them. (see pics).
