Upon walking in I could not find anyone to speak to. It was dark and unwelcoming inside. Finally someone answers my call for assistance and impatiently asks if I'm ready. I set my order, pay and leave (as I don't feel welcomed here). Should have checked my order before returning to work, because this is not what I ordered. I'm already at work so I just ate what was decided for me. But kudos to her for giving me the healthier option instead of what I wanted. Food was great that is why I raised it to a 2 star ⭐⭐
When am near by this place, Golden China Carry Out @ 12719 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring MD, I will keep driving and I highly recommend you doing the same thing and look for another Chinese restaurant. It seems the portion for a large is like a small but the cost is priced for a large. I will go to Wheaton next time or get PHO. I "Used to" stop in and order diner for my wife and me when out in the Briggs Chaney area. Last evening I did stop there and ordered General Tso's Chicken and Beef with Broccoli. I can normally eat most anything, but both dinners were so hard to chew, I would still be chewing today if I continued to try and eat it and gotten even sicker. Even the Broccoli was not chewable. They are either buying the cheapest grade of meat and vegetables to cut cost or cooked it until it was like shoe leather. I called today to let them know how bad it was and asked for the owner. The girl was rude, hung up several times and would not tell me the owners name, but I looked it up as being CHEN, ZHAO WEN, Age about 46. I believe he lives on Keating St. Temple Hills MD. I called one last time and not sure if it was the owner but said he was and wanted me to bring back the dish so they could let the chef try it. Now what idiot is going to taste it from the same dish we ate out of? We threw it away and did not even give it to our dog. I did not want to get the dog sick as well as us. I rarely ever write reviews, good or bad, but I may call just to let them know. This is an exception and I think people should know. I have been in more restaurants than most people since this is my occupation now for over 30 years. I did many very large chain accounts over the years as well as small carry outs. Being I know the health codes I noticed a few violations when there waiting. I am sure if I was allowed in the back, I would have seen many more. I can't say what is worse, there attitude, food or how filthy it is. I know for a fact if you went in the kitchen there, you would not eat the food. When my wife refused to eat this food, I knew it was not me since she is Asian and speaks Chinese as well as other languages. I also normally do not try a lot of restaurants. When I find one I like, I stay with them for the most part, but with an attitude like theirs, it is that time. Poor Customer Service, terrible food, over priced. I would go to McDonalds before I go to this place. At least I know what I will receive there. I would post a picture, but it is where it belongs, $25.00 down the drain.
Terrible, food is sooo plain and the lady at the register was rude. Didn’t even fry the rice or anything
Very nice employees who are generous and personable. I always have really positive experience there and the food is delicious. Happy customer.
Food is always great and the lady at the front is very sweet. Always circle what you want on the paper menu to help with communication.
Glad I overlooked the bad customer service reviews on here. The food was the best of the takeout Chinese food in HP I've had, and the customer service was super friendly. Definitely will return.
Only gave a 1 star review because that was the lowest I could give. The food is basic Chinese food with ok taste. The real complaint is the customer service. The woman working in the front taking orders is the worst I've experienced in a long time, maybe ever. I wouldn't recommend going to this place EVER.STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!
They can’t get any stars from me because the experience was beyond any star. As soon as I walked in to place my order, the female at the desk gave me great attitude. She is so evil it’s ridiculous. My husband and I have experienced her nastiness on several occasions. We thought that maybe if we tried at different times that it would be different, but to no avail. We, the customers are keeping your business running and this is how you treat us? She got made at me because one order was without onions. That was a problem for her. She packed our food in the bag so that the gravy would burst out of the bowl all in the bag. I will not patronize this business again and will make sure to tell all of my coworkers and friends to never go there. I would rather pay double or travel further to get quality food and good customer Service. My shrimp fried rice was not fried. Smh ?♀️
