May 20 I went to Standard to celebrate my 65 birthday. I did a search before driving an hour to get lobster. Told the waitress It was my birthday and she said they did not have lobster but had lobster sliders. I almost cried when my plate was delivered with lobster meat equal to two tablespoons and looked like pieces of bacon. The waitress disappeared so I combined the two slider meat to one and ate it. My salad was spidery greens with 1 cherry tomato halved and a few almond slivers & carrots. My meal was $24!! When the waitress came she started telling us she got struck shucking oysters cause the staff that does this left at 2p. I expressed how disappointed I was and she said nothing. When bill came there was a $2 charge for salad but menu read “comes with waffle fries or salad”. My husbands burger was $14 and well worth it. I apologized to him for wasting $24 on my scare food. We will never go back to Standard & my 65 birthday lunch was ruined. Our bill was $54 ….two lunch meals, tea, 1 bottle beer & cheese cake……this was LUNCH!

Wow wow wow! If you like oysters, this is the place to be. We tried them all! Also, the lobster sliders with a charred lemon to die for. I will never forget the Mac-n-cheese, though. My goodness. Everything was divine! Get yourself here. STAT.

Hands down best seafood restaurant in town! Food was incredible and the service was great! We ordered fried oysters an an appetizer and the low country boil to share. Both were phenomenal! Highly recommend!

Came during restaurant week. Food was a little overpriced. Bar design is a little crowded feeling. Oysters were fine(presentation was poor for the price)but do not get the etouffee. It was a food crime. Tasted liked minestrone and there was no way it was made with a roux. Also rice was super swollen like it was cooked in it rather than the etouffee served over it. Tldr oysters fine but expensive wouldn't recommend anything else.

10 stars. Incredibly fresh with an unheard of amount of local options. Could not recommend more. Amazing food, kind and attentive staff, you won't be disappointed

This was our first trip and it will not be our last! We had some raw oysters from NC that were medium salinity and buttery. We had a low country boil pot that had crab legs, steamed oysters, shrimp, andouille, potatoes and corn — it was perfect. The staff was attentive and very friendly, which made it a great experience. They have an outdoor patio area now as well. We will definitely be back soon!

It was my first oyster bar experience and I couldn't have been more impressed. Ashley was the best server--so attentive and outgoing. I will be making the 45 minute drive here again.

my oyster po boy was great. my wife's lobster sliders were overcooked and tough. the fried grits were great.

First I’ll start with the good. Service was good, continuously refilling drinks and crab legs. Now for the not so good, the menu is very limited and expensive. You would think as much as we were paying there would be bread or hush puppies or something. Two people got steak and it was the worst tasting steak I’ve ever tasted, I tried a bite and spit it out, very sour bitter tasting like it was bad or something, still not sure how it could taste like that. They did take the steaks back and got to order something else. My 19 year old son ordered catch of the day(sword fish) to then be told they’re now out of sword fish (big disappointment) so she offers tuna and asks how he wants it cooked, medium well he chose. When his food came the tuna was cut several times and was a very thin tiny piece of tuna and was almost raw. This is very bad from several angles, please know how to cook and don’t cut into fish or steak to get it to the right temp. Food other than the crab legs was very bland. Please to the owner or manager of this place be a little more open with your menu. You pay $40 for a meal or $65 for crab legs but can’t pick what sides you want, very unpleasant. Give up on whoever is making the Mac and cheese and buy velveeta in a box (it’s way better). My 8 year old came up to me and said it was horrible and several others agreed. I have two stars because the crab legs weren’t bad and the waitress was good at keeping them coming. If you’re looking to sit at tables there are only 5 or so tables outside which was fine for us because we knew that going there but just letting others know it’s just a bar on the inside. I was looking forward to trying this place out and was left with a bad taste in my mouth.

The bacon jam oysters are amazing! We will definitely be back. Hidden gem.
