Tried Rancho Viejo for the first time today. The food was good, pretty standard. I was feeling adventurous so I ordered a cucumber jalapeno margarita instead of a fruity option. It was hands down the best margarita I've ever gotten at a restaurant. I was worried either of the main ingredients would be too strong in the drink, but it had the perfect level of cool and spicy. It was very sweet, but that's how I prefer my margaritas so I was happy. I definitely plan on coming back, and the cucumber jalapeno marg will be my go to drink.
One of my favorite sit down restaurant for Mexican food in town. All the experiences I've had here has been positive and the service is great as well. The tacos, rice and beans are some of the best in town.
Very good Mexican restaurant in Hickory. The interior includes brick arches and carved wood benches for the booths. I was seated promptly and received good service. The chips and salsa came out very quickly. They have a fresh salsa bar with many choices to augment the salsa they bring to your table. I ordered the POLLO RELLENO (#33) on the recommendation of my waiter and it was outstanding! I ordered a couple of margaritas too. The “skinny margarita” was very tasty as they use fresh juices and a top shelf tequila to make it. I also ordered a House Margarita (which are pre-made) and it was NOT good at all for my tastes. The margarita mix they use is way too sweet and I really couldn’t taste the tequila at all. I asked for some limes (twice as I needed more) so that I could doctor it up instead of sending it back. When I I got my bill I was charged $1.25 for the limes. I’ve never been charged for limes but I guess it’s their policy and I didn’t say anything about it. All in all, a very good Mexican with a nice atmosphere. Cheers!
Great Mexican food and ambiance! Service was very good for a packed Friday night. Portions are very generous and the price is right. Take the family you'll enjoy it!
The guacamole ? is freshly made with your preferences at the table. The selection is tremendous without sacrificing quality. Excellent customer service and good prices too.
Saturday night, almost full restaurant waited 45 min for our food when the waitress brougth almost all of the food she said that they gave my kids food to another table and that we had to wait for it to be made again, they didnt brought my tortillas had to ask for them again. Waitress was careless about our refills, when it was time to leave we asked for three empty cups to go, waited 5 min got nothing and just left. The only reason i gave it 2 stars is cause food was good, Owners please train your staff
Wonderful visuals inside! Clean & well organized. Friendly staff. Large portions. Fajita was a bit dry. Could have had a few more peppers & onions. Best of all was the great price! Highly recommend!
Carlos was a wonderful patient server!! He never let our drinks get empty and was very informative with questions about menu items!! He is the best!! Our first booth was broken and he was happy to sit us at a more comfortable booth that was so kind of him!! Thanks Carlos for your kindness!!!
Went for the first time this evening with family. Will definitely be returning. The food and the wait staff were awesome. It’s funny how I’ve been driving past this place for a few years and never thought to go in. My apologies. My compliments to the cook. The steak and shrimp ?. My nephew said the server lied to him about the spice level of the tacos ?. He couldn’t handle them. They did say “Diablo”?. Anyway, it was a great night to be had. Thanks again.
The service from Rigoberto was excellent!!All the food for that was served to all of us 11 people was fantastic. LARGE PORTIONS, great prices hot good.... Need more restaurants like this... Great job to all....
