I so want to give this place 5 stars but I just can’t! The service, portions, salsa, cheese dip and desserts are sooooo good! However, the chicken and steak or any meat for that matter are so bland! I had heard that from friends and family but wanted to try it anyway. It’s almost as if there is no seasoning whatsoever!!! Fix that problem and this place would be untouchable.
Pelos is a great server and has been one of our favorites since we moved to Hickory. We eat here usually weekly and never get tired of the atmosphere, staff, or the food. Plus, some servers can have a heavy pour at the bar which is always appreciated.
The food was amazing! The service was horrible and is the reason I am only giving 2 stars. We sat for almost 15 minutes waiting for someone to greet us. We thought maybe they didn’t know we were seated so we stopped the first waitress we could find. She ignored my daughter the first time..rolling her eyes btw. When my daughter said excuse me again, she interrupted her, put her finger in her face, and rudely said, “I will help you in a minute!” The lady who brought our food was really nice but after that no one asked if we needed anything or topped off drinks. We had to flag someone down again to get our ticket and to go boxes. Meanwhile, the rude waitress was cutting up with another waitress. Thankfully, the food was amazing it definitely made up for the service. I always leave more than a $10 tip…not this time… and that’s rare for me. Putting you finger in my child’s face for politely asking for help…is not okay!
My husband and I ate here last night, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The food was seasoned to our liking, except hubby has to have his a bit more spicy. The spice bar was a real thumbs up for him. Our server was very pleasant and attentive and gave us enough time to look at the menu to decide what we wanted; this was our first visit. The restaurant was very clean and the music was conducive to the surrounding Mexican theme. We had a very pleasant conversation with Alex, the manager, and she shared the restaurant's history. It is truly evident that the family takes pride in the workings and management of their restaurant. We will certainly be back to eat more delicious meals!!
I eat here weekly, have only done takeout from this place and it's always been a consistently fast and friendly experience. Have never had an issue with pickup times, pricing, or inaccuracy in orders, even with the pandemic and short staffing that's commonplace right now. Service is great and the food is tasty. They take the extra step in being upfront, friendly, and double checking my order. I prefer this place to other places across town . Have never dined in, but imagine it's good table service as well.
It was my first time eating here! The service was great, and the restaurant is very clean. And the food was well-prepared! We’ll be back soon!!
We dine in and food was terrible service was worse server never came back…then I try to give them a second chance doing a Togo order and the lady answered was so rude so def not recommended

Came back twice for this chicken … Love that “Pollo con Crema” Good environment, affordable prices, definitely will be back to taste other things on menu.
