First time eating lunch here. It's awesome. The salmon is off the chain. Xavier is the best. She's always smiling and very pleasant. And if you get fries get tartar sauce for dipping it's homemade and very tasty ?
Horrible Experience!!! We were in Hickory, NC for a youth basketball tournament this weekend. In between games we wanted to get lunch. We arrived at Kick Back Jacks. Many, many empty tables. We checked in at the hostess station. There were 3 groups of 6 total. We didn’t need nor request to sit together. The hostess took all three groups info to text us when our tables were ready. The manager walks up and they whisper to each other. He then walks over and says that he is gonna have to refuse us service and will not allow his staff to seat us. He says that they don’t allow groups of 8 or more. And we said we are all separate families just here at the same time and some are willing to sit together if that helps, we would just like to feed our kids before their next ball game. He said, no! I am not gonna seat you nor accommodate you regardless if you are together or separate. Meanwhile group after group of people come in and get seated that arrived after us. As well as tons of staff, just standing around.Nevertheless we left because who wants to spend money and eat where someone doesn’t want you? We went to Hickory Tavern, where we were served and treated like valuable customers. I would never spend money in an establishment ran by such a hateful, arrogant manager that would turn away a 10 year old girls basketball team for no good reason. Just absolutely horrible.
I placed an order to go on door dash. We are from out of town so didn't know what to expect. I thought the prices were so reasonable so I didn't think twice choosing an 8 dollar dessert. I thought for sure it would be a huge piece of shareable cake for that price. I also ordered an extra serving of ice cream for 1.18 extra so I could split with my son and didn't receive it in my order. The food was delicious. Haven't made it to the cake yet. Maybe it's a tiny amazing cake with every penny. My son will have to let me know. So still 5 but just give some more cake for the buck or lower the price. The food was sooooo good. I got the buffalo chicken wrap and my son got th chicken fingers, fries and broccoli. Highly recommend for dinner...but maybe go somewhere after for dessert. Or do what I should do instead and skip it entirely. ?
Good food and drinks at a reasonable price.I had their early bird fish and chips.I asked for well done fries and they missed that, but the fish was excellent.My wife had the ribs and fried shrimp. They were fall of the bone ribs and very well prepared fried shrimp.Drinks were good and reasonably priced.Good job!
Been eating here for years and the management staff is rude and ruining this place. Avid customers for years and denied entry today because we had a party of 10. No worries we made a game plan and accommodated or group down to 6. When we walked back in the manager which was a man wearing a LR shirt (I am LR alumni) acted as if we were lying to him about our party. Omniscient to his actions and attitude got upset when we said we were leaving then made the comment, "Don't come back"? Wow? Talk about customer service??? I would have asked to speak to the manager but he was the manger. I won't be back and I'll make sure to put a word out to the community about it as well. One thing you guys need to understand is that it's a small one and word travels fast.
Great food , burgers are awesome, pasta , chicken, shrimp, flounder , EVERYTHING is good even the alcohol you ask Drew for a shot of tequila he says what kind. Everyone here is so nice. Sometimes it gets a little loud outside and there isn't really a quiet outside spot but hey maybe one day. I do like the private area outside with the picnic tables and no one can get to you lol. Maybe put an ash tray out there sometime
We order from here about once a month - always a large order as we are a large office . Today we placed a to go order with a man named Jeff and he was so very rude! After everything we said he responded "thats an upcharge." Ok whatever just take the order! Then He even said next time for "his convience" for us to place our order online! No customer service at all! Then I find out he is the manager. How about next time I place my $150 order with another restaurant!
We have been to this restaurant multiple times. It's a fun atmosphere with good food. However, last night we attempted to eat on the patio, which we were told was first come first serve. We sat down and everything was fine until Crystal, the manager, came out and told us we had to leave because we had too many people. We split up among tables as we were told to do, but she said we "weren't allowed to know the people next to us". I'm sorry, but when you go to a bar, you talk and socialize no matter what. She cost her servers a lot of tip money and lost all of our business. I recommend that the company seriously consider removing Crystal as a manager as she was rude and ran off good paying customers.
Our waitress was Allysa fantastic. She didn't do anything besides her job properly which is actually rare. All of our food came out quickly and was very good. It would be a great place to watch a game given all the large screens.
Very Rude Very Disrespectful. Management is a joke, bartender had a attitude then says “ let me get my manager” crystal comes the manager and her posse strutting through the place with a attitude before she even gets to us. Then let’s the door at the bar slam in my face because she was too focused trying to be dominant lol. Then I mentioned her letting the door slam in my face and acted like it didn’t even happen. All this was over them not wanting to seat 8 people 4 people at one table and 4 people at another table. Very Rude Very Disrespectful.
