Great food, fast friendly service & staff is great , the owners are fantastic people they actually come out to talk to their customers & get their opinions this Captain’s Gallery has restored my faith in getting great seafood again

Great food, service, and the owners are extremely nice.

Delicious, clean and reasonably priced!

The food very fresh and delicious. Fast and friendly service. Highly recommend!

My husband and I went and ate this past Sunday right after the church crowd rush. It was absolutely delicious. So delicious in fact my husband was more concerned about taking The Leftovers than his phone. We did not realize we forgot his phone till 11 PM that night and everyone knows captain's galley is closed on Mondays. So I reach out via Facebook and got ahold of a polite employee and begged them to please make an exception to meet me. They did! A manager came in on his day off and was so polite. This is the best location out of all the ones I've tried. Did great. Service great. Above and beyond. Yup!!! Thank you Blake and who ever is responding on fb.

Very good fish! They did forget our slaw, never got it. Oh well. Nice size portions of fish. Hush puppies very good, tartar sauce as well. ????

The food is great and a reasonable price. The sweet tea was on point. The waiter was amazing, I can't remember his name but I think it was Anthony. Finding good servers is so hard to run across, he didn't under or over on anything and if you know what a good waiter is, then you know what I mean. If I could have left him a better tip I would have. I personally loved how they do themes for the holidays, I will definitely come back when I'm in the area again.

The absolute best restaurant in Hickory! I placed an order tonight, and when I got home I realized a few errors occurred with my order. I called to make them aware, and returned to the restaurant. It truly wasn’t a big deal being that I’ve been going to this establishment for years, and I’ve never had a bad experience. My order was corrected, and the customer service was wonderful. It happened to be around closing time so the owner happened to be present, and he was simply AMAZING! I’ll take him up on my free dessert when I return next week lol. I would rate ten stars if I could!

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!If I could give less I would. We came here because of the good reviews, but it was truly awful. My main 3 complaints are:1. Most everything that is served is fried, and it all is coated in the same exact batter that has no real flavor. All you taste is the enormous amounts of grease that they use. Plus they serve it in large portions, which could be a bonus, if it wasn't all served on one plate in a massive greasy pile in which you can't identify the different seafood items from each other.2. The food is oddly fast to come to the table for seafood and that's due to none of the food being made fresh. Everything is Luke warm and taste like it's been sitting in a warmer or put in a microwave.3. Eating here actually made our family sick. We noticed it after eating a couple pieces of "seafood" when it didn't quite taste right. We didn't even make it out of the restaurant before my fiancee got sick. When I told the staff at the front they did absolutely nothing about it. They just asked if he ate the scallops. They didn't even show concern until after 10 minutes had passed, and my fiancee still hadn't come out of the restroom. So in conclusion, I would highly suggest that you do not eat here. I would find somewhere with a much better selection and chef in the kitchen.

It was a true sacrifice of my time to write this review because like many people I'm way too busy with everyday life, but I had to voice my dissatisfaction. I had not eaten at CG in at least 2 years for reasons that I won't go into here but decided to give them a try after so long. My first visit was about a week ago on a Sunday and I dined in. The food was piping hot and I enjoyed the whitefish. However, my sweet potato left a lot to be desired, it was still firm in the middle, not cooked soft to my liking but I didn't make a fuss about it. I just ate around the middle. On my second visit on 2/4, I did carry out. I did not call in, made my order at the counter and waited. It came out in less than 10 minutes. Once I got home, which is literally around the corner, I had no sugar and cinnamon for my sweet potato and the potato was huge. Once again, it was too firm so I had to nuke it in the microwave to cook it more. The most appalling thing was the very small amount of fish I received for an $11.00 regular plate. 4 very small pieces of lukewarm whitefish, almost cold hushpuppies and a half baked sweet potato. I waited for this, so it all should have come out very hot. I know restaurants are suffering with the current circumstances but c'mon, if the fish are small, it is not going to hurt to throw in an extra piece for the amount you're charging. To top it all off, the young lady at the counter right off the bat asked me if I wanted the senior plate. Now, good customer service would never assume a person's age and risk the chance of offending someone. I'm in my 50's but she just should have asked what size plate I wanted and left it to me if I wanted to ask for a senior plate. Maybe all of this is nit picky but my money is hard earned and I'd like to receive good consistent service if I frequent an eating establishment. I probably won't chance going back and just stick to another fish establishment done the road.
