Great service today. Never had to wait in anything. Food was delish. The menu is very inticing. I had ribs. Fall off the bone good. Brown Mtn Light is my favorite beer. Great experience. Will definitely be back. I highly recommend this place!! Even brought home a couple beers in a Howler. Sweet !!
It was very good, but we went for Mother's Day. There were 6 of us in our party and we had to split into 2 groups because the tables were a little on the small side. Besides that it was great.
Very friendly service! The waitress kept my tea glass full. The food was hot and fresh. Great atmosphere!
Was not a huge fan of their beer, but what excellent service….Melissa couldn’t be more helpful and proactive to our needs. Wife’s salad came up short on grilled chicken and she more than took care of that problem. Their pulled pork sandwich was loaded with meat and not overly smoked…very well done. Rings were good, not great. Huge salad. Just watch your head if you dine in a barrel.
Like to stop here when we come to Hickory from Florida. Never disappoints. We had the cheeseburgers and fries. Tried the onion rings also. Everything was good. Can’t wait to visit again.
Is always good unless you order Wings at supper they are always HARD and cold!! The skin was so tough on mine I had to just throw it away I couldn't just bite into them and for the price it's unexceptionable but the Chicken Salad Salad was amazing!!!!
I bragged on this place so I took my brother there on a Saturday night 2 weeks ago and it was the most disappointing experience! It was 8:30pm and there weren't many customers. Nobody acknowledged us when we came in so we seated ourselves. We asked one waitress if they would clean off the table and another to wipe it dry. Then we were ignored the rest of the visit. I finally got up to ask a bus boy for our menus/napkins and still nobody came to speak to us. We watched our waitress clean tables and then gave her 10-15 more minutes to respond. We finally got tired of waiting and left but my poor brother didn't realize how low the wine barrels were there. He stood up, gashed the top of his head open, and walked outside with blood running down the side of his face! My husband and I have eaten there many times and never experienced this kind of treatment. I could understand if they were very busy, but even so you don't spend all your time busing tables while your potential customers are just sitting there waiting. You acknowledge your guests, give them menus/silverware, ask for their drinks, and clean your tables while they are choosing their items or while their food is being prepared. And yes, we know they may have been short staffed, but management needs to train what little staff they have better. Speaking as an experienced former waitress, I don't know if we will ever go back.
I took my 7 year granddaughter and my sister to eat in one of the 'wine barrels' ? We thoroughly enjoyed our Angus burgers / fries ? I ate mine with Portobello mushroom cap & Swiss cheese - Delicious!! We had a great time ?
I have been to this restaurant many times for lunch over 20 years ago and at that time enjoyed sitting in the barrels. Now I prefer sitting at the bar. I have liked all of the food and fresh beer. The deep fried cheesecake has become a consistently delicious way to finish the meal. The staff “know their stuff” and make excellent food & beverage recommendations.
I don't drink but I love trying new places to eat and Amos Howards Brew Pub did not disappoint. I got the mushroom swiss and it was awesome. The onion rings are really good too. They have these big barrels you can sit or they have regular booths.
