Great food and service every time we go!
Very unique place with amazing customer service!!
It took almost 2 hours to get our meal which was room temperature. The restaurant was not even crowded. We than ordered dessert shortly after the waiter returned and said the kitchen was closed. He could not fill the order.
One of our favorite dining experiences in 37 years. Renzo greeted us at the door and he is a lovely host. The staff was very attentive and the setting cozy. The caprese salad was fresh and simple yet elegant. The lasagna recipe is unique and delicious, inspired by his grandmother. Looking forward to our next meal there.
Renzo Maietto's reopened invention, Speakeasy, in downtown Hendersonville, NC, is the high-style reflection of a Northern Italian chef. During the pandemic Renzo redesigned his restaurant with 1920s flair -- a Speakeasy bar, 20s flapper mannequins, strobe lighting, a cooking stations in view on the dining floor and a wonderful jazz vibe (with music). The pastas, salmons, and prime beef are lovely -- authentically flavored, never too much. Renzo's classic Italian style seems like it would fit sophisticates in nearby Asheville, but here it is. This chef, like so many others, has had to cope with skyrocketing food and labor costs. But he hangs in -- mostly out of love for what he does and food he cooks. His talented staff follows suit. I highly recommend the Renzo experience! He gives his clients that indefinable sense of personal care, ambience, and shared love of food and wine. You can see him Friday and Saturday nights -- he's always there, visiting diners and asking their feedback. He will be opening a daytime luncheon experience and has room for parties, wine events, and other gatherings. We love him!
Great food, great atmosphere, friendly service. A hidden gem in Hendersonville - we will be back!
Never again. I will not support any business who holds a fundraiser for any politician who is a horrible bigoted individual and Adolph Hitler admirer. It’s good business to remain on neutral ground and decline political events of any kind.
Great food great atmosphere great music great service! We will definitely be back!
So was expecting a great experience. Aweful. Food was terrible. They charge a 10.00 entertainment fee each person. Overpriced horrible. Would never go back.
Unfortunately, a man who has had considerable experience in operating a very good restaurant with very good Italian food has failed to plan and execute his reopening of Renzo's Speak Easy. Anticipating the excetional Italian food of his previous restaurant, we attempted to enjoy a wonderful meal on Renzos reopening night, 11 Feb 22After an hour and a half (at least) of waiting for our dinner we received two of the four dishes which contained not the ingredients advertised (sausage, not bacon), were undercooked, and at best, lukewarm. We left.Renzo, when you get the bugs ironed out, maybe in a few months we'll try again. But, my friend, you should know better
